Chapter 9

A few days later...

Alex POV

"No! You can't go! Please don't leave me!" Jeff said, clinging to me.

I sighed.

"Jeff, I have to go help Sebastian finish the project. We're almost done."

"No! You can't!"

Nick was giving me a look. It was his 'I told you so' look. He told me Jeff was getting possessive, and I denied it. But now he might be going a little too far.

"Jeff. I have to go finish the project. And you and Nick need to finish yours too. I have to go, ok?"

"No."

"Jeff."

"No! Don't leave me!"

Jeff wrapped his arms around my waist, and pulled me onto the bed.

"Jeff, you can't be doing this. I need to go."

I tried to pry his hands off of me, but he was putting up a fight.

"Nick, please can you come help?"

Nick sighed, and walked over. He started prying Jeff's hands off of me, and Jeff started screaming. I grabbed my stuff, and ran out the door before Jeff could catch me again.

Jeff POV

"Let go of me!" I screamed.

"No! I don't trust you not to run out the door after her."

"You're hurting my arms!"

"Jeff, I'm barely holding them tight."

"Let go!"

"Shhh. Stop screaming."

"Then let go of me!"

I sighed, and gave him a look.

"Jeff. You need to understand that Alex needs some time to herself."

"She's with Sebastian!"

"Ok, well she needs time to work on the project too. You can't be with her 24/7. She knows you're her boyfriend, and she won't let anything come between that. I promise. I know she won't. She really likes you, Jeff. But now you're just being annoying. And you can't try to force her to be with you all the time. It's becoming an unhealthy relationship."

I started crying, and I flopped over on my pillow.

"Jeff, come on. Don't cry."

Nick started rubbing my back.

"Come on. How about we work on the project, ok?"

"No..."

"Jeff. It's due in 2 days. We're only like half way done with it because you never want to focus!"

I buried myself under the covers. I just want to disappear.

"Jeff..."

Nick pulled the covers off of me. I tried to stop crying, but it just turned into a lot of sniffles.

"Jeff, what's the matter?"

Nick sat down next to me, and started rubbing my back again.

"I don't want her to be mad at me and hate me! I didn't mean to!" I cried.

"Jeff, I'm sure she's not mad at you. It's ok."

"But what if she is?"

"Jeff, she's not."
