I sit in front of the computer.
Fingers ready.
Mind wandering.
I want to write.
But I can't.
I get up from my chair.
My hand reaches for the phone,
But stops outstreched.
I want to call you.
But I can't.
I get my flashdrive.
Plug it in.
I look at all the pictures of us.
I want to embrace you.
But I can't.
Baby, I miss you.
Sometimes love sucks.
I wish we lived closer.
I wish I could move.
But I can't.
So I settle for thoughts instead.
My phone rings.
I answer to your voice, and I smile.
'This is fine', I think.
As long as I have you.
As long as we're together, we'll get through this.
Although our bodies may be separated,
Nothing can separate our love.

Darkness
PoetryThis collection of poems ranges from bleak to uplifting, but all were written from my own heart. Poetry, like music or any other art, is often best when it comes from the soul...and these poems definitely did.
