Chapter 25

Haley sat quietly as the nurse cleaned his wounds, she hated that Jax was in pain and she couldn't do anything about it, such a strong person was so vulnerable at the time. Opie had once again went to retrieve lunch as whatever mess they brought Jax for lunch sent her straight to the bathroom to empty her stomach,

"Babe I can't wait to go home" Jax groaned as the nurse left

"I know me too. This place keeps making me barf" Haley said

"Just tell them that we dont want the food anymore" Jax said

"I plan on it, if I barf one more time I'm gonna kill someone" Haley said

"Did they give you a time frame on leaving this place?" Jax asked

"Nope, really depends on when you feel like getting your ass outta bed" Haley laughed

"Your enjoying this" Jax laughed

"Slightly. My big bad biker isn't so big and bad anymore" Haley laughed as she kissed Jax

"Shut up. Just wait I'm gonna ravage you when I can" Jax laughed

"I don't want to hear that" Opie said as he walked into the room

"Thank god, I'm starving" Haley said

"I can't believe you craved hot wings" Jax said

"But they are soo good" Haley laughed taking her container from Opie

"You know Jax I bet she's having a boy with the amount of spicy shit she's eating" Opie laughed

"I wouldn't mind another boy" Haley said in-between bites

"So Op, fill me in on what's been going on?" Jax said as Opie handed him his container of food

"Clay is still trying to figure this out. Everyone is saying it wasn't them, but something isn't right Jax you were the only one hit" Opie said

"I need to get back to Charming, sooner rather then later" Jax said thinking

"You need to get rest bro, I've got Chibs riding up tomorrow. Donna is riding my ass about not being home" Opie said

"I understand" Jax said as he began eating

Three weeks later

Jax sat in Haley's SUV as they drove home, he was considered a free man after being in the hospital for nearly a month, Haley ended up having to leave because both kids ended up sick so she was needed back in Charming

"Abel is going to be excited to see you" Haley said

"I missed my little man and Maddy too" Jax smiled

"Oh trust me she missed you too, she started sitting up on her own yesterday" Haley said

"I missed so much already i cant miss anymore" Jax said leaning his head against the window

"Don't worry Jax, we still have this little nugget" Haley said motioning to her stomach

"I know, better be a boy Abel needs a brother" Jax said reaching over and taking her hand

"And Maddy needs a sister" Haley smiled

"I cant do another girl, no way" Jax said

"This is out of your control babe" Haley smiled

Jax sat on the couch with Abel on one side and Maddox on his lap

"I missed you guys so much" Jax said

"Miss dada" Abel said snuggling up to Jax

Jax felt complete. He had been waiting for this for a month now

Opie had found out who it was that ordered the hit on Jax, he knew it was on the inside because only a few people knew Jax wasn't wearing a vest. Opie sat at Jaxs kitchen table and laid it all out for him while Haley was at the store with the kids

"So your telling me that Clay did this?" Jax asked

"Yeah man, over heard him and Tig talking. He said he would do anything to get you to not be head of that table" Opie said

"He's gotta go Op, he's gonna hurt my family and that's something he's going to regret" Jax said lighting a cigarette

"We need to come up with a plan" Opie said

"No, I'm gonna bring it to the table. Clay has done nothing but cause problems, and I'm done with it" Jax said

"Okay brother, I don't know who else is in on it" Opie said

"If none of them agree that Clay doesn't deserve that gavel anymore then they are just as corrupt as he; our fathers worked to hard for this to happen" Jax said

"I understand, I'll bring Piney up to speed" Opie said

"Get Haley, Donna and the kids up to the cabin. This is going to end tonight" Jax said stubbing his cigarette out

"Are you sure you wanna do this tonight?" Opie asked

"Yes, get my mother up there too" Jax said standing up and walking out of the kitchen

A few hours later Gemma stormed into Jax and Haleys look for Jax

"Why do I need to be at the cabin?" Gemma asked as Jax slid his kutte on

"I found some intel, this was a ordered attack I need to make sure my family is safe" Jax said

"Jax who did this?" Gemma asked

"Clay did. Clay knew I was riding without a vest, he doesn't want me to have the gavel. He never did" Jax said

"Are you absolutely sure Jackson?" Gemma asked

"One hundred percent mom. Now please go I don't want you hurt" Jax said kissing his mother's cheek

"Be careful. You know how he gets" Gemma said

"Don't worry about me" Jax said smugly

"You deserve that gavel Jackson you always have" Gemma said

"I know. That's why I'm taking what's mine" Jax said walking out of his house.

He couldn't lie he was a little nervous, a man that raised him since he was fourteen put a hit out on him, tried taking children away from thier father. He was going to pay for this.

Jax rode for what felt like eternity, hoping his family was safe. Hoping that everything went as planned tonight and he would become president after Clays hit came to light.

The club would earn right, just like John wanted it
