(Meesha POV)
I feel like I haven’t sung in years… well that’s an exaggeration of course but usually I sing every hour of everyday. With everything going on it’s like I can’t even utter a tune. Daddy used to love hearing me sing. That’s the only reason he made me join the choir even though I didn’t really want to be a part of it. He said that was his excuse to hear me sing in the middle of church because it motivated him to preach. I love my daddy I really do but he just doesn’t seem to understand what my dreams are…
Jacob: You alright?
Meesha: Yea… I’m alive and well why wouldn’t I be alright?
Jacob: (nods) Humph. Good point. I heard about what happened with your dad
Meesha: Ugh! I feel like everything is against me Jacob!
Jacob: When was the last time you prayed?
Meesha: I pray every night Jacob you know that
Jacob: Well when was the last time you said thank you
Meesha: I don’t know where you’re going with this
Jacob: Just answer
Meesha: I don’t know a while I guess
Jacob: You only talk to God to ask him for things but try being grateful and saying thanks you know. He gives you peace that way too.
Meesha: You know what? You’re right Jay (hugs him) Thanks for that
Jacob: Anytime sweetie (kisses forehead) Just know I’m here for you when you need me. If it’s to pray or talk… (Mumbles) maybe even have lunch together
Meesha: What was that last part? I couldn’t hear you
Jacob: Oh! I said I’m here whenever (smiles)
Meesha: (giggles) Your smiles make me smile
Jacob: That means I’m doing my job the sweetie. Oh! Before I forget, when ever you’re ready come downstairs for breakfast
Meesha: Got it!
Jacob: (Thinking) I can’t keep doing this to myself.
Prince: Hellloooooooooooo Jacob!
Jacob: My bad whats up bruh
Prince: The sky
Roc: MY LIFE!
Jacob: (laughs) So I’m guessing the date went good
Prince: OH GOOD IS A FLIPPIN UNDERSTATEMENT!
Roc: Yea Prince is right! Robin and Shay are wonderful I swear
Prince: For real! Matter of fact I got to call Robin now…
Roc: Man that boy is sprung over her already
Jacob: Really? Dang cupid is striking everybody lately isn’t he?
Roc: (laughs) He got to you yet?
Jacob: U-uh I wouldn’t say that… You know I ju-
Roc: OHHHH DAMN! She got you stuttering and everything. What’s her name?
Jacob: Well um… (sigh) so there’s this girl right
Roc: Right
Jacob: And she’s the best. She can sing she’s a Christian like me and she’s beautiful
Roc: So we’re talking bout Meesha right
Jacob: Right- Wait… n-no
Roc: It’s alright your secret’s safe with me bruh
Jacob: No! You’re the worst at keeping secrets!
Roc: I am not! Look you liking Meesha is between me and you I promise!
Jacob: (Sigh) Fiiiine but tell anyone and I might have to kill you
Roc: Got you man. But since when you started liking Ray’s girl
Jacob: Since the day I met her at the concert. My heart stopped completely when I heard her sing man. You just don’t understand. And she comes from a Christian background like me! Like I feel we’re made for each other
Roc: Yea too bad she loves Ray
Jacob: (Glares at Roc)
Roc: Oh my bad
Jacob: I just want to tell her how I feel without anyone being hurt
Ray: Tell who how you feel bruh
Jacob: I- Umm
Roc: This girl he likes
Jacob: (Glaring at Roc)
Ray: Awe! Thats great man! Who is she? Do we know her?
Jacob: Um well I uh I guess
Ray: Cool you should invite her over for dinner tonight. We’re eating in.
Jacob: Um yea. Sure I’ll see if she can come…
