Author’s Note: I’m so sorry this took so long! I don’t know if I still have readers but I hope you would find this chapter worth it. :)

Also, I hope this will cater you necessary and subtle hints upon a character’s development. Any theories or analyses? *winks*

Thirdly, I’m sorry if I’ve got too many scenes placed in here, if you mind. Please take note that these are flashbacks, so there are just fragments of the past! Does that make any sense? I hope it does. :)

Everything will fall into place in the future! Now, please read on.

Hazy.  Chapter Eight.

I didn’t spare any second as soon as I got up with the realization burning through my chest.

I kept myself busy at home, past six in the morning, rummaging through my closet – cleaning, fixing and undoing the folded clothes again and again. I need to stay away from the threats of my dismantled thoughts.

Marcel has been nothing but nice to me – to everybody; what did he do to deserve such games?

“Is something bothering you?” My dad spoke up, noticing I was just playing with my scrambled egg on my plate rather than eating it for breakfast.

“No.” I reconciled swiftly, glancing at him across our little dining table so that I could look sincere.

“Well, maybe you’re a little nervous for your big day tomorrow?” Dad grinned at me, believing my act.

“Scared, actually.” I grimly replied, describing what I was honestly feeling about prom and all of this mess I’m currently into.

“Don’t worry too much, Jamie. You’ll be fine.” He smiled lovingly.

I just nodded.

The warm crisp of air meshing with the mild coldness of what’s left of the morning fog embraced me as I jogged my way to school. Running isn’t actually my hobby, but with P.E and having a short distance between my school and my house – I have to say this whole routine that I do every single day, makes me a decent runner.

If I calculate correctly, the range between my house and my school distances around a fifteen to twenty minute walk or a nine-minute jog.

But today, I wanted to be faster, to be invincible just this time.

What’s it like to be capable of everything?

The neighborhood blurred dizzily on my sight as I sprinted, my feet thumping steadily on the hard ground. I felt the surge of adrenaline rushing over me, my jumbled thoughts exiting their way in the back of my mind.
