"Charlie?"
"Yeah?"
"It's going to be okay."
"Okay."
"We'll fight together against whatever is making you sad."
"Okay."
"Come here," he pushed himself up and opened his scrawny arms.
She lay still for a while and then sat up and crawled on the grass towards his embrace. He wrapped his hands around her weak body and held her tight.
After a while, they both dozed off, tangled and together.
