August POV

I was taking a shower when I felt somebody press against me.

I turned around. It was Jayla.

Aug -  Jay get out

Jay - you ain't got shit to hide baby. I've seen you naked before.

She moved in front of me.

I wrapped my arms around her waist.

She washed off.

After 15 minutes we got out.

I kissed her belly. She's 8 months pregnant now.

Jayla stood at the sink brushing her teeth. Since I already did that I walked out and put my clothes on.

Jay walked out the bathroom and put her clothes on.

I helped her put her shoes on.

Aug - c'mon mama

Jay - where we going

Aug - IHOP

She grabbed her purse and walked out.

Jayla POV

August is taking me to the mall right now. Out the corner of my eye I saw Odell. I didn't let that bother me. Since I had to pee I went to the bathroom. After I did my business I walked out. Odell stood at the door.

Odell - hey Jayla

Jayla - um hey

I tried to move but he blocked the doorway.

Odell - so you can't speak to your damn husband. That's so damn rude.

Jayla - move Odell

Odell - shut up Jay

Jay - MOVE

I pushed him. He choked me.

I clawed at his hand.

August POV

I went to check on Jayla. She's been in the bathroom for a really long time. I saw Odell choking her.

O hell nah

I walked over and he turned around.

He let Jayla go.

I punched him repeatedly and kicked him in his head.

Aug - DON'T PUT YO HANDS ON MY BABY AGAIN.

Jay got up off the floor and walked out.

I followed behind her.

Aug - you okay

She looked at me as tears streamed down her face.

Jay - I want a divorce.

I smiled.

I went by the court house. Jayla walked in and went to get the papers.

She filled out the information and paid the clerk.

Clerk - okay Mrs. Beckham do you want your name changed back to Williams.

Jayla - yes

After the clerk did that we went home. Odell sat on our front porch.

Aug - stay in the car Jay

Jay - okay.

I got out.

Aug - get ya ass off my property

Odell - nah fight me

He want another ass whopping. Okay

Jay - beat his ass Aug.

Odell  punched me in my jaw.

I punched him repeatedly. He fell backwards.

Tamar got out the car.

Tamar - okay okay he's had enough. Stop it.

Jay got out the car.

Jay - um y'all take y'all asses home and by the way Odell expect some divorce papers tomorrow.

Odell - you divorcing me? Why?

Jay - cuz I don't love you.

Jayla walked in the house. I followed behind her.

Jay - baby sit down.

I sat down.

She came back in rubbing alcohol, a  hot towel, cotton balls, and an ice pack.

Jay - okay this might sting.

She cleaned my cuts and bruises.

I put the ice pack against the side of my face.

Jay put the hot towel on my back.

She kissed my cheek.

Jayla - thank you baby

Aug - ya welcome.

I laid down on the bed and Jay went in the bathroom.
