Delphi's POV

I held the knife tighter in my hand and pressed it against the big man's neck, getting ready to mutilate him if needed.

"I'll ask you one more time- Who sent you?" I demanded. I was taken aback when none of them even tried to attack me or struggle their group member free. I could've taken all of them but he didn't even try to attempt to get out of my hold.

I had taken a wild guess of who the leader was, but after their reaction I was not so sure of my judgement. The way they stood calmly made me question my earlier prediction.

"Luna, this isn't you it looks like." The one to the right stated, trying the diplomatic path.

"I am not your Luna. Don't talk bullshit to me, who are you? And what do you want?" I spat, my grip on the man below me was slipping, he could easily get out of the hold if he wanted to. His weight was definitely an advantage.

"Delphi?" I heard someone's voice call out to me from behind. I recognised that voice to be Caleb's but didn't turn around.

"Who are these people?" He questioned coming beside me, trying to sunder him from my hold.

" I don't know. I just noticed that they have been following me for a while." I muttered smoothening my skirt. Caleb had held the man in a tight grip, from which now he had started to struggle against.

His reaction to Caleb's hold was much different from what it was to to mine. He was actually struggling against the hold and succeeding. Seeing his actions made me even more dubious. He could've taken me down if only he had tried.

I got his scent before I saw him, he was walking with purpose towards us making me frown.

"Sylvester?" I breathed out, his stride made him even more attractive to me, he had a serious look on his face that meant business. I put the blame for the increase in my heartbeat on the fact that I had not seen him in quite a few days and my body remembered that.
Now is not the time, Delphi. I muttered to my own self. The physical attraction between us would eventually be impossible to resist, to me it was already feeling like it.

"Let my men go, Alpha Caleb." He ordered snaring at a confused Caleb.
"You sent men after your mate?" Caleb spoke again. "Who does that?"
Sylvester didn't pay attention to him and looked at his men now standing in a line with their heads bent in-front of their Alpha.

"You can leave now, wait for me in the pack house. There is some instructions to be given." His voice was heavy and held a reprimanding tone.

After they gave him a small bow they left and Sylvester turned to me.

"I need to talk to you alone. It's important." I took time to analyse his expression, and it made me reach to a conclusion that it was indeed urgent. He was not fooling around, behind his professionalism I saw the concern. It made me wary of what was to come.

"Whatever you have to say, you can in-front of me." Caleb continued standing with me. I was grateful for his support but I was safe with Sylvester there was no question about it. He would without a doubt do everything he could to keep me safe. I knew that much.

Before the two men could start a growling battle again, I stepped forward.

"Caleb, I'll talk to you tomorrow, okay? There is something he needs to say and perhaps I will regret my following actions but I have to meet him alone. Tell Lola I'm sorry to have ditched her." I put my hand on Caleb's chest and gave him a meaningful look.

"If you say so, take care of yourself, Delphi." He whispered and shot one look at Sylvester. I didn't have to turn around to know what Sylvester's mood was. He was angry, I could feel his wolf circling right at his control.
