Dear Lucy,
The family members of those who have died do not want their names portrayed online because of a thread the Historical site is posted on. In the end, a few online users harassed the family members here in town, promptly, the citations were taken down.
As for the trail, I do not know how old you are, or why you are so curious about this area, but I advise you to take heed of what I am going to say. There is something not right with the trail, I myself have been there, and I felt like eyes were watching me from a couple hundred meters down it. It is said people continually go missing due to weather, but I do not believe it, no one here does.
Authorities have attributed the oddly high number of deaths with the sporadic weather. It is dangerous here, even in town, so the weather higher up the mountain is even more dangerous.
We have tried to barricade the road that leads to the trail, but the plywood and signs continue to be torn into shreds. No one has died there for a few years, because no one has gone there for a few years.
