It boils deep inside, trying to cave its way out

It tries to take hold, leaving her with fear and doubt

It burns so deep inside, makes her want to yell

It’s the emotions that collide, every bit breaking her shell

The anger she feels, for everything she’s lost

Her cries are never ending; she’s caught in a twisted holocaust

Her eyes full of fear, darkness surrounds her

Choking her to death, memories bound to her

Her shell is collapsing, leaving her vulnerable

Deep inside, she’s just a lonely girl

It’s not hate that eats her, but love she couldn’t have

It’s the people that left, tears she shed

It’s the nightmares that leave her gasping

Wanting someone to hold her hand

It’s the misery she’s surrounded with

Hoping someone could understand

It’s not revenge she wants; it’s not a monster she wants to be

Its love she desires; the key to be free

I reach out and touch, wanting to help that girl

But soon filled with shock, glass shatters my world

My hand touches a cold surface, I fall to my knees

She does the same, terrified I scream

Her hands clutch her mouth

Her whimper sends me shivers

The tear that escapes her eye

Makes my body quiver

The reflection in the mirror

Is a girl on her knees

As I realize

That girl is just me
