VEERA POV.
I sprint forwars faster than I ever remember being able to.

I grab the leash and hang on tight.
I dig in my heels and my muscles groan in protest.
But, to my relief, Geode stops with a grunt of anger.
I pull him back from the mans' backside, and to where we can be seen.

He snarls at the man, and lunges for his throat.
He's on his back legs, wings flared in challenge.

The sound of a glove on skin makes me want to kill somebody.
I put myself between Geodes' retreating form and the abusive man.
I grab his glove, and hit him with it.
He screams and backs up.
I take the swab from him and swipe it under running water.

I growl, "GET OUT OF MY APARTMENT BEFORE I.."

My roomie says something and holds me back.

She sighs, then notices Geodes' leash is streaking out the door.
She tells me in time, and I charge after him.

I fly down the stairs, yelling warnings.
I see Geode coming up, and grab his leash.
I hang on as we charge down the stairs.
When we reach a landing, I pull back.
Geode turns on me, teeth barred.
He relaxes when he sees it's me.

I stroke Geode, now knowing why he hates people other than me. Why he chose me is a mystery, but he did.

He looks up at me with his green eyes, and leans on my leg.
His wings are curled in like folded sails, and seems so innocent and scarred.

Then, I remember the challange he sent out at the scientest.

He suddenly growls as the memory of the cruel scientist hits my mind.

He warns, "We can hear read influence each other thoughts, I guess. Your thinking of that stupid scientist."

He ends with a snort, and lays at my feet.
I take him to his stall for a nap as I go to make sure the scientist is gone.

I tell the front desk as I throw her the keys to his stall, "Do not let anyone but me have those keys."
She nods, and I charge up the stairs like a bandit.
I see a stairway straight to level six of the girl dorms, so I take them.
They're well lit and beautifully done.

I take the stairs multiple at a time, anger fueling my charge.
I come out a door I thought was a dorm, and write the number on my notebook as I run to my room.

I burst open the door to see my friend tied up and the man gone with the brush.
Dang it.
I untie her with my, blush secret, pocket knife.
I charge back down stairs, and find the man holding the secretary at knife point.
The keys are on the desk behind her.
I go in, and take them.
He never sees this, but he does see me distroy the brush by tossing it into the burning barrel for manoure.

He roars, and lets the secretary go.
I taunt him up one stair well as the secretary calls the police.

I lead him back down another set right to the police into the lobby.
I duck down, and slip between them.
They form a wall, and arrest the man.
I go to Geode, who's trying to break out.
I hear the chief beside me now, as I approach the shaking door.
He asks, "You must have a dragon?"
I shake my head.

I whisper, "He's a lab experiment failure. Dragon is definitely in there though."
I open the top door and leap into the stall.
I hook his leash on and warn the cop to back away.

The door flies open, and Geode charges out.

He sniffs the cop over.
Then, he sits down and leans on him like a big dog.

The chief of police asks. "I thought he was vicious?"
I nod, and reply as he begins to scratch the happy Geode, "He usually is. I guess he just knows who he can trust. Don't you?"
Geode replies, "Well, I can tell he has his own animal. A Phoenix name Firo. He's a good trainer, so why not trust him. Plus, he saved me from London the Abusive as we lab rats call him."

The police officer looks at Geode in shock.

He cries, "Your the animal we found in the illegal lab as we shut it down. One got away. The lab workers said he was a reject anyways. The others died from bein poisoned. I'm glad you made it."
Geode smiles, and his tail swishes happily.

I smile, and the Chief hands me a phone number.

He replies, "If he, or anyone, bothers you like this again. Feel free to call this hotline. It'll take you to the first available police chief."
I nod, and he walks away.
I hug Geode, who seems happy to be safe from the lab worker.

He suddenly sits upright.
He jerks and the leash falls to the floor.
He takes off for the stairs and forces it open with brute force.
I follow him, and we speed up the stairs.

He growls, "Your roomie is being hurt. By a tall man, dark hair, dark eyes, vampire complexion."
I nod, and ask, "How do you know?"

He shrugs, and looks at me.
He looks back at the stairwell.
He bursts the door, and he tries to burst the dorm door.
I hold him back.
I scan the card, and walk in with Geode on a tight leash.
What I see on the couch I was never prepared for.

I back out of the room,  my friend and her friend in embarrassed shock.
