2 Months Later

-

Everything has been going great. The baby's are doing great, and Blake and I couldn't be happier. Life has just started to get straighted out, and I love it. Even though the babies weren't planned, especially both of them, I still love them. They are the whole world to me, and I couldn't be happier.

It's been two months now. Unfortunately, both of them aren't sleeping through the night yet. So, when one wakes up, so does the other one. And that happens at least three times a night. Blakes been a real life saver, getting up when the babies don't need to be fed so I can get some much needed sleep. I don't think I've ever been this tired in my life. And I thought work and studying was hard. I get three months off for work, and I can't believe I have to go back in a month. How am I supposed to do that? I mean, Blake will be here, but I don't want to leave my babies alone for long periods of time without me. I'm sure they'll be fine, Blake is great with both of them, especially Ash, but still. I'll miss them. Blakes been looking around for a job since he wants me to stay home with the babies, but he has his parents money. I'm only working because I like being able to earn my own money. But Blake insists that he finds a job so I can quit my job at the hospital.

My thoughts are interupted when I start to hear a sharp wail, followed by Blake calling my name downstairs. I sigh and finish combing out my tangled hair. I just took a shower, and it's the first shower I've had all week. I can't put either of them down for five seconds without them screaming. I groan as I hear Blake call my name again, this time louder and more urgent. I set my comb on the counter and look at myself in the mirror. I'm a mess, my brown hair frizzy and crazy, and longer than it has ever been before. My face is free of any kinds of makeup, and I look boring. And tired. And I'm just wearing grey sweatpants and a black shirt that belongs to Blake. I grab a pacifier that sits on my bedside table and walk downstairs, rubbing my eyes with my free hand. Blake looks up at me and grins. He has both babys in his arm, Ash in his right and Ryder in his left. Ash is whimpering and Ryder has fresh tears rolling down his soft cheeks. I frown and look at them, and then Blake.

"What happened?" I ask, glancing around the living room. There's stuff everywhere. Diapers, bottles, clothes, toys, and a bunch of other stuff. I sigh and grab Ryder from Blake.

"I tried changing them, but they wouldn't stop moving. And then they started crying because they were hungry, but you were in the shower, so I tried feeding them formula. I gave Ryder some and he spit it in my face, and Ash just refused the bottle completely." Blake says, laughing.

I walk over to him and sit next to him on the couch. I guess he didn't wipe his face good enough, because I can see formula residue on his cheek. I smile and wipe it off with my thumb.

"I'm sorry. Are they still hungry?" I ask, looking at Ryder. He stares at me with his green eyes, tears threatening to spill out and down his pink cheeks.

"Yeah, they wouldn't eat anything else." Blake says, rubbing Ashley's cheek with his thumb.

I sigh and start to get up. Blake pits his arm over me and flop back down on the couch.

"Where are you going?" He asks.

"Upstairs. That's where the breast pump is." I say, getting up.

He shakes his head and looks back at Ash. I walk up the stairs for the millionth time today, and it's not even 10 AM yet. I go into the nursery and grin. It's so cute in here, and Blake did a great job. I walk over to the rocking chair and feed Ryder, and he looks up at me and grins. He's already just like his daddy, you have no idea. After he's done eating, he gives a satisfactory burp, and sucks on his thumb. I giggle and stare at him.

"You like that, huh?" I say, rubbing my nose against his. He giggles and resumes sucking in his slobber-filled thumb. I crinkle up my nose and walk back downstairs to grab Ash. Blake grins at me and exchanges babies with me, and I walk upstairs and do the same with Ash.

After she eats, she falls asleep and I put her in her crib and turn the baby monitor on and taking the other end out with me. Blake looks up at me as I walk down stairs and gives me a puzzled look.

"Where's Ash?" He asks.

"Upstairs, she fell asleep after I finished feeding her." I say, grabbing Ryder from Blake. Ryder opens his eyes and gives me a toothless grin, and I giggle.

"He's just like you, Blake." I say, smiling at both of them.

"I know, it's crazy. And Ashley is just like you, Lex." Blake says, and I smile. I'm blessed to have these three people in my life.
