Stillness

6 1 1

There is a certain stillness
found in the night

A low hum of the ceiling fan, a sliver of light seeping through the gap in the curtains, a slight breeze coming from the window

A single moment
Is all it takes
To find

Stillness.

In that moment of stillness
The world is quiet
At rest
From the loudness, the screaming, the chaos.

There is a certain stillness
Found in the night

Where there is beauty
Where there is purity

The lights go dim,
And we are all left with
The darkness

The silence.

In the dark, we see what the world hides
And we find what is hidden within ourselves

There is a certain stillness
Found in the night

A low hum, a sliver of light seeping through the curtains, a slight breeze coming from the crack in the window

A single moment

Of purity.
