Chapter 7

(Jennifer’s POV)

          After explaining about the soul mates, Peter, Nathan, and I headed back to my house. I did exchange numbers with my sister before leaving though, so we could keep in touch. When we got back to my place it was around two in the afternoon, so we decided to watch a movie before nightfall. The boys picked The Twilight Saga: Eclipse because they love to make fun of it for getting almost everything regarding vampires and werewolves wrong.

          “How can you stand to watch this preposterous rubbish at all? Why, in my days, people feared creatures of the night like us and now they have turned us into laughing stocks. That Edward Cullen person is NOT a vampire! He is a fairy! Vampires DO NOT sparkle in the light! I actually burn!” I fumed at them, while letting my Italian accent out. They looked shocked and a little frightened. Good, as they should be! I thought to myself.

          I turned back towards the television with a smug expression on my face. Ha! That will show them! Next time I’m picking the movie and I WILL make them watch no matter what it is *insert evil laugh here*! I actually watched the whole movie with them and the only satisfaction I got was from seeing Jackson Rathbone, who is sexy as all get out! It was six when the movie was finished and the sun was about to set, so I went and got a pillow, bucket, blanket, and some warm water.

          Peter looked at the items warily. “What exactly do you need all of that for?” he asked uneasily. “Well since shifting is a normal routine your body goes through every month, it will start to reject the idea of not doing it, therefore making you sick. It was easier for me since I’m more powerful than you, but you will get a fever, chills, and your stomach will reject all food that isn’t raw so it won’t be easy but will be worth it.” I said with a bright smile.

          I could already feel my body aching for the change so it had to be worse for him. “Go ahead and lie down. I’ll be right back with some raw meat.” I flew through the house to the basement, got the raw meat out of the freezer, went back upstairs to the kitchen and got a plate for it. I heated it up in the microwave and took it to his side. The pain was about to begin.

(Peter’s POV)

          “Ahh!” I screamed as the first wave of pain hit me, trying to force my body to shift. Normally it wouldn’t hurt since I would let my body shift, but now that I’m rejecting the shift it hurts like hell! “Jen! I think he needs some help over here!” Nathan called. No wonder he is my best friend with all his concern for my well-being. Jennifer came strolling back into the room with a disappointed expression on her face. “Come on Peter you have to relax yourself but don’t relax your brain. Relax your body but concentrate on anything other than phasing or you will phase. You shouldn’t be in as much pain if you relax either. I’m a little disappointed in you. You are stronger than this Alpha.” she said with confidence and fierceness. I was grateful that she believed in me and she even called me Alpha.

          I relaxed my body, as she said to and thought about my mystery mate. I know that I remember her from somewhere. Jen even said that she was part of my pack once and was even my babysitter. She is two hundred, but is forever seventeen. Her heritage is Hispanic, and Jennifer is like a sister to her. Her name is Catherine or Cat and she is an exotic beauty, especially with her blue eyes. It is very intriguing to have blues eyes with a Hispanic background, but brown and green are fairly normal. I can’t wait to meet her or I guess see her again.

          I didn’t realize how long I had actually spaced out thinking about her, but Jen’s voice brought me back into the present. “Peter! You did it! I’m so proud of you! I don’t know what you were thinking about but it worked. Now it will be so much easier next time. You’ll just have to relax and let your mind wander. We didn’t even need any of this stuff I brought. Congratulations!” she came over and gave me a big hug.

          “Thank you so much Jen! I think I’ll take off now, but I’ll see you tomorrow at school! Goodbye!’ I called out. “You’ll be in for a big shock tomorrow so be prepared!” she called out as I ran out the house. I wonder what it will be? I thought to myself.

(Jen’s POV again)

          “Alright Nathan! GET OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW!” I yelled at him. He jumped about a foot in the air and if I weren’t being serious I would have laughed at him. He all but ran out the front door. Ah, peace and quiet. Oh, how I love you so! I wonder whe– My inner monologue was cut off by the front door opening. “Honey! I’m home!” the voice sang. I jumped up from the couch and ran over to Cat and engulfed her in a large hug.

          “Cat! I’m so glad you’re here! I have such a surprise in store for you tomorrow! Oh my gosh! How could I forget?! I’m in for a surprise tomorrow too! Cat I will meet my soul mate tomorrow and, although I do not know what he looks like, he sounds deliriously sexy though. Goodness, I’m afraid that I’ll jump into bed with him as soon as I see him! You’ll have to help me out so that I don’t.” I pleaded with her.

          “Of course I will! I can’t wait to see him! I wonder what my surprise is? Will you tell me? You know I hate surprises.” She gave me a puppy dog face, which is ironic since she’s a werewolf. “Nope! Now, c’mon, you can sleep in my bed since I don’t need to sleep anymore. You’ll need a lot of rest. We both have a big day tomorrow.” I led her to my room, where she settled in for the night. I was contemplating tomorrow. I’m meeting my REAL soul mate for the first time and going to the pack meeting. Why am I so nervous? I’ve never been nervous before. It’s all his fault. He is in for some trouble when we finally meet!
