"Okay," I said smiling. "Thank you so much for letting us stay."

"It's no problem. Come back whenever you want to," his dad said. "And Tanner, you'd better treat this wonderful young lady right. I'd hate to see you come back to visit us without her."

He smiled. "I will, Dad," he said. He turned to me. "We should go, love."

I nodded. "Yes. Thanks, guys," I said as Tanner ushered me out the door.

"Bye!" they called.

I got in the car with a smile on my face. "They're amazing," I said.

Tanner sighed. "Yeah. They really like you," he replied, sitting down in the driver's seat next to me.

"Thank God. I was expecting them to be super strict and judging," I said.

"Well, they were around my earlier girlfriends," he said. "But with you they just opened up and fell in love with you. Which is a first."

"Where to now?"

"Miami. It's not far from here. You have to see the beaches."
