English poem 'Seven Ages of..'

Anthony Delgado, TV3B

Seven Ages of School

First thing in the morning, you wake up

Have to make an effort to get out of bed

You need to hurry with breakfast and leave

But you were too slow, you missed the bus

You missed the bus, now what do you do?

You have to hurry, you can't be late for school

You have a test soon, and homework too

In the end, you wait, hoping the bus comes early...

You arrive at school, still on time for the test

Barging into the classroom, pen in hand

But the room's empty, there is no-one to be seen

You're the only one there, because the lesson got cancelled!

You finished the test, everything went well

Now to go on with the rest of your day

First a break to relax, and then a lesson again

Now let's just hope it stays nice and quiet today...

The last lesson was Maths, lost of calculations

You made many mistakes, had to start over often

But still, that's not everything that happened

Of course, it was to be expected, you got homework to do

You're in the bus, on the way to home

Finally school is over, it was a busy day

But the day itself isn't over yet, you still have things to do

Because you know homework isn't going to make itself

You came home, started doing your homework

You did much, but there's still so much left

With eyes full of sadness, you look at your work

Because you know that tomorrow, you'll have to do it all again.
