[20] – Blue
[Please take time to read the lyrcs in the song. The song is why this chapter is so short -- because I couldn't have said it better c: ]
“I think I found more words
On your page.”
The boy’s ears perked up.
Metaphorically,
He had curious written on his page too.
“You like blue?”
The boy followed the girl’s gaze
From his blue sofa cushions
To his blue carpeting
Then finally resting back on his blue umbrella.
The boy rubbed the back of his neck
Blushing but nodding.
“Blue is a psychologically
Calming color.
It relieves and unstresses you.
It makes you feel at home and at ease.”
The girl took out her old blue iPod
The color rusting away from the edges.
She clicked the song Dark Blue
By Jack’s Mannequin.
As it played, humming in the background,
She turned back to the boy.
“What makes me wonder is
Why would someone reserved like you
Who needs change but slashes
With dripping black paint;
Who despises the rain,
And tends to be “boring” and “safe”
Need to love blue,
A color that give serenity?”
