The past two months of our life had been a complete bliss and had passed by pretty quickly mainly because they had just revolved around Ahyan and shopping, from wedding gifts to gifts for family members to all our little necessities and not to forget surprise dates my husband keep planning. I had experienced all those little happy moments with Wali in these two months that they had made up for all the time I had been drowned in darkness thinking I can never smile from my heart or never look at life with a bright perspective and without a doubt Allah made Wali my savior and proved my own theories wrong.

Wiping the sweat from my forehead and tucking the stubborn hair strands behind my ears I dished out the curry in the bowl and placed the pot back on the stove when two arms circled my waist and he planted a soft kiss on my shoulder and then place his chins on top of my right one, hiding the threatening smile off my face I paid him no attention, that's how you should respond to your husband when he leaves you alone for the whole day when he was supposed to be on leave.

I freed my body from his grasp and walked to the other side to take out plates for everyone, as it was time for sehri (sahoor) and today everyone was gathered at our apartment because we have flight for Karachi just after fajr.

"Everyone is up!" Rafia got back into the kitchen making Wali take few more steps away from me.

"Great! Well Rumaisa have set the table just take this bowl and plates, I'll bring yogurt and coffee." I passed her the bowl and gave a glance to Wali who was continuously looking at me with a pleading look. Rolling my eyes at him I took out the yogurt and place my dupatta carefully on my head I walked out towards the dining table when he grasped my wrist and stopped me on my way to come and stand beside me, looking ahead I stood there tapping my foot, mocking him with the sign of my irritation.

"I am really sorry! Qasam say! (I swear!) if it wouldn't be important I would have never left you yesterday and finalizing everything along with looking over all the stocks and meetings made me late. But I called you." He tried to defend himself.

"Yesterday of all days! You didn't only left me alone the day before we are leaving but you didn't even come for iftar. I made the pizza especially for you! Leave it I don't want to discuss!" I hissed trying to get my wrist free.

"Yaar, I am really sorry!" he sound so genuine that I was ready to give up.

No Khadija! You even dressed yourself to have the last iftar with him!

"Don't be sorry Wali," I replied in a mocked sweet tone, "You are going to be free from me for next ten days till our Walima! Enjoy as much office work as you can!" I shook my hand free and walked towards the dining table where everyone was already seated.

The idea of staying separate was proposed by almost everyone from the family and though Wali put up a great argument but failed miserably, apparently everyone wants to enjoy the traditional events of a wedding ceremony from mayon to walima. Wali declined the idea by saying it's not part of our religion but when elders agreed to the idea he had no option but to accept.

I was brought back to the energy filled surrounding when I felt Wali's foot on mine, how he was slowly rubbing them together and then teasingly pulled up my shalwar through his toes, I shook my foot but it didn't stop him from doing it, instead it motivated him to do it further, so bringing my hands near to his I pinched on his finger and he yelped, I controlled the urge to laugh out loud but soon covered it with a worried expression when he started coughing to avoid the attention.

"Ya Allah khair!" I heard mama and phupo saying.

"Wali pani," I smirked passing him a glass while he glared at me and I knew I was gone.
