It was a much clear day, since past two weeks the city was having the worst storm of the history but today it seemed otherwise, the sky was clear and blue, the sun was shining with all its might and the cool air was adding more beauty to the calmness. She found herself standing in front of the window of their bedroom breathing in the fresh air after what seems like eternities, she looked at how people were finally on streets after being trapped inside for ages, she smiled on the scene in front of her.

"Khadija?" her smile got widen when she heard Abdullah chachu calling her, with a wide grin she turned to face him but soon her smile faded as she saw his grim expression.

"Is everything okay, chachu?" She asked taking few steps towards him.

"Beta, sub kuch behtur hojayai ga. Allah pur yaqeen rukhna!" (Child, everything will get better. Keep your faith in Allah!) He said taking her hands in his and squeezing it, the gesture was enough to make her realize he was certainly not talking about the weather she had been worried about; it's something else, something far more important.

"Chachu, what's wrong?" And instead of answering he took her hand guiding her out of the room, and with every step they took Khadija felt her heartbeat accelerating, her subconscious was screaming about the worst of all storms which is yet to come and she was trying harder to get her hand out of chachu's hand but before she could try further they both stopped walking and then chachu turned to her, motioning her to look forward.

A loud scream left her mouth, in front of her was unconscious body of her husband who messaged her a while ago in forming her about his early return from work, she remember how today morning she asked him to take a day off but he declined with a smile telling her about the loss the company suffered in last two weeks and how important it is for him to be there. Khadija ran towards the lifeless body of Wali, she took his cold hand in hers and started rubbing them turning his body she started shaking him, while continuously running her fingers through his hair which were still as soft as she had always felt them, but the pink lips which she kissed today with a smile were pale and blue though to someone else he would have looked like a dead body but to her he was her Wali, for whom she was waiting to wakeup so she keep trying to bring him back but it was of no use, he was gone, leaving her all alone, once again.

"It was brain hemorrhage, his clots never got cured." Chachu was telling her but she couldn't bring herself to believe because they were supposed to leave for Chicago, then what happened?

Keeping my book aside I was about to turn off the light when suddenly Khadija woke up gasping for air.

"Khadija?" I quickly turned to her placing my one arm around her, on my voice she looked up and I saw her wet face and terrified eyes which calmed down once she realized that it was yet another nightmare, she is having one of those a lot lately and it kills me that I am the reason behind it.

"W...wa... Wali..."

"Shhh it's okay I am right here." Wrapping my arms around her I kissed her head while rubbing her back and she clutched on my t-shirt tightly while silently sobbing. We stayed there for a while, after she calmed down I passed her glass of water and made her sleep again, this time I lied down with her and placing my arm around her I pulled her closer to my chest when she quickly grasped my arm and kissed my finger I relaxed and with a smile and placing another kiss on her shoulder, I closed my eyes.

Khadija's POV

It had been few hours that I had that nightmare, more than few hours Wali made me realize that he is just right here but my calmness is long gone even his little movement make me turn and look at his face. I can't get the horrid nightmare out of my mind and his face, how pale it was. I quickly shook my head and silently wiped my tears and start concentrating on the rhythm with which his chest was moving behind me, showing that it was just a nightmare and Insha Allah my Wali would be completely fine. I believe in Allah, He won't take him from me.
