Dancing Moments

I felt really fortunate today. It was a beautiful night, the typical camping weather. It wasn’t completely dark yet, but the stars are starting to show. I liked it and I wish that time would stop right at this exact moment. I could hear the slow background music playing softly, making the atmosphere feel even better. I could hear people talking and laughing carelessly. At that moment, I felt like all my problems and worries are being magically lifted off my shoulders. All the people present today all deserved a special place in my heart. They’re the closest people Ryan and I have and they mean a lot to us. I like how my special night has an impact on everyone. I like how I don’t see anyone stressing out about anything tonight, which is obviously a good sign. But while others are enjoying their time, I’m right here about to shit myself. This is part two of the things that I dread on this day. The reception. And the dance. “Don’t worry, I don’t dance either.” Ryan loudly kissed my cheek,

“Then we’re both going to trip on each other.” I leaned my head on his shoulder,

“The both of us will tumble down together, but no one’s going to judge.” He stated proudly, “My little sister used to say that there’s no such thing as a blot when it comes to true love. And I, Ryan Harrison, is truly in love with you.”

I giggled goofily, “Fine. If we fall, we fall together.”

“Don’t say it like your forced to.” He pouted like a little kid,

I sighed with a smile, “If we fall, we fall together.”

He snaked his arms around my waist and rested his chin on my head, “You look awfully breathtaking today. I nearly choked in the middle of the most important moment of my life, you know?”

“I’m sorry if I tried to kill you.” I pecked his lip,

“You killed me a million times already.” He chuckled, “You killed me a million times and brought me back to live over and over again. I feel like Prometheus sometimes.”

            “That escalated quickly.”

“You take my breath away every single time.” He shrugged with a cute smirk,

            “Cheeky little monkey.”

“Okay, settle down.” I heard a guy said to the microphone,

            I froze.

            Ryan’s grip protectively tightened.

            Uh oh.

“Settle down, settle down. I think it’s time to call the newly weds to do their first dance. Everybody agree?”

            Cheering, chanting, and clapping erupted.

I felt like throwing up from all these nervousness. Obviously, eyes will be on Ryan and I in specific. I get nervous whenever I do a short presentation in front of a class of at least twenty five pupils. This shit is not a fucking power point presentation, and it ain’t a short one either.

“It’s going to be okay.” Ryan reassured, “I’ll be with you, holding your hands, making sure that you won’t trip on your own feet.”

“I hope you two aren’t doing any monkey business in there!” I heard Cubbie,

Ryan and I giggled softly and rolled our eyes.
