"Anna, you really didn't have to do this," Louis groaned for what felt like the tenth time since they had gotten out of the car. "I know you're - "

"No, stop!" Anna exclaimed, pulling him to her, so that he collided against her chest. She wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her chin on his back. Quietly, she continued, "Babe, this is your night and - "

"I want it to be our night," he whined. "I just want to be with you."

"I know, Lou, but we can't just exclude everyone else," she turned him around so that they faced each other. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed his pouted lips. "Tell you what, you enjoy a couple hours here and then we can escape. Just the two of us," she tried to compromise. It seemed to work, because he smiled.

"Fine," he gave in. "But you better not be lying to me."

"I'm not, I'm not!" She promised, pulling him toward the building in front of them, where Louis' "surprise" birthday party was being held.

As soon as they stepped through the doors, the lights were switched on and all the party guests jumped up, yelling, "Surprise!"

Louis didn't look the least bit surprised, since he had figured it out a few hours ago, so Anna pinched his sides a bit, so that he would at least pretend to be excited.

"Oh, wow! Thanks, guys!" He smiled brightly, pulling Anna close to him. "What a surprise!"

"Let's get this party started now!" Harry shouted, which prompted the DJ to blast music from speakers spread out all over the place.

Anna walked over to Harry when Louis' mom and stepdad began to talk to him, not wanting to be a bother.

"Successful party, huh?" Anna nudged Harry with her shoulder.

"Yeah, except Lou obviously wasn't surprised," he rolled his eyes toward her. "You couldn't keep your mouth shut, could you?"

"He figured it out on his own!" Anna laughed, slapping Harry's chest, making him stumble back a bit. "He's smart, you know."

"But you could've denied it!" Harry chuckled, shaking his head.

"I did! He wasn't buying it," they both had their eyes on Louis, who was busy talking with his parents.

"Whatever, we did a good job. Everyone is having fun and Louis is happy,"

"Exactly," Anna nodded. She reached up to ruffle Harry's hair, which made him whine out an, "Anna, stoooop."
