Part Six

"I know this isn't really my place to do this but Mariana you said it was okay so..."

Mariana punched Zac in the arm excitedly. "What's going on with her?" Stef said. Everyone at the table shrugged.

"This song is dedicated of course to Mariana and Zac, but most of all to my boyfriend Connor." Jude said, and he cleared his throat nervously. He turned around and walked to Brandon. "Do you have it?" he whispered. Brandon nodded and discreetly gave him the small box, which he grabbed, quickly turning towards the audience and stuffing it in his back pocket. Connor sat at the table and looked towards Jude with a small smile.
Jude stepped towards the front of the stage and grabbed the mic shakily.
"One, two, three, four" Brandon counted off.

Jude cleared his throat one last time in the intro, and then started to sing, softly.
"Forever can never be long enough for me
To feel like I've had long enough with you
Forget the world now, we won't let them see
But there's one thing left to do."

Lou joined in harmony.
"Now that the weight has lifted
Love has surely shifted my way" they continued.

"Wait a minute, I know this–" Connor got cut off.
Jude sang solo again.
"Marry me
Today and every day"

Mariana sat there and continued to punch Zac's arm excitedly. "Is he–" Zac questioned, whispering. Mariana just nodded and motioned for him not to say a thing. "Oh my god."

"Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm"

Stef and Lena were swaying in their seats to the music. Callie was marveling at the talent of her brother.

"Say you will
Mm-hmm"

Brandon started to sing. "Together can never be close enough for me
To feel like I am close enough to you
You wear white and I'll wear out the words "I love you"
And you're beautiful"

Jude cut in.
"Now that the wait is over
And love has finally shown him my way" He took a deep breath and continued.

"Marry me
Today and every day
Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe
Say you will
Mm-hmm."

"Say you will
Mm-hmm" Lou and Brandon sang in harmony.

"Promise me
You'll always be
Happy by my side
I promise to
Sing to you
When all the music dies" Jude sang. He pulled the mic off the stand and started walking off the stage. Everyone gasped. Mariana fidgeted. Connor looked confused.

"And marry me
Today and everyday" he sang, continuing to walk towards his table. Stef and Lena started to squee.
"Marry me
If I ever get the nerve to say "Hello" in this cafe" he continued, finally making it to Connor, his voice breaking. He knelt to the ground. The band stopped playing. Putting his hand in his back pocket, he pulled out the open box and held it to Connor.
"Say you will
Mm-hmm
Say you will
Mm-hmm" he sang, acapella. Connor put his hand up to his mouth and started crying, completely taken by surprise.

"Marry me." Jude finished. Connor continued to sob. "Well? What do you say son?" Mr. Stevens asked. Connor, with his hand still cupped to his mouth, just nodded through his tears. Jude placed the mic on the table and hugged him. Lena turned towards Mariana and mouthed "Did you know about this?" She nodded wordlessly in reply, grinning.

Jude and Connor pulled out of their hug and they kissed. Everyone cheered and clapped. "I love you Jude."
"And I you Connor. I can't wait to spend our lives together."
"Which reminds me, I also have a surprise for you. I was going to go first but considering what just happened..." and smiling, he got up and went to the stage, grabbing the mic. "Jude, this is for you."
The band members all nodded and they started to play. Connor started to dance in the intro.
"It's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do." he started to sing. He spun around.
"Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you." He continued to dance. Jude pulled his head back and started to laugh.
"Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you." Connor sang.

"Well I know this little chapel on the boulevard we can go oh oh oh,
No one will know oh oh oh,
Oh, come on, boy." Lou sang.
"Who cares if we're trashed got a pocket full of cash we can blow oh oh oh,
Shots of patron,
And it's on, boy." Mat sang.

Connor walked towards Jude, mic in hand, and started to clap, getting everyone else to join in.
"Don't say no, no, no, no-no;
Just say yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah-yeah;
And we'll go, go, go, go-go.
If you're ready, like I'm ready."

Lou joined Connor in harmony.
"Cause it's a beautiful night,
We're looking for something dumb to do.
Hey baby,
I think I wanna marry you." He grabbed Jude and pulled him out of his seat, dancing with him.
"Is it the look in your eyes,
Or is it this dancing juice?
Who cares baby,
I think I wanna marry you." Connor sang, grabbing his hand.
"I'll go get a ring let the choir bells sing like oooh,
So what you wanna do?
Let's just run boy." Connor reached into his pocket and pulled out his own ring, giving it to Jude and sliding it onto his finger. Jude smiled and started to cry a little. Mariana got up and started to pull Zac into dancing with her. Lena and Stef got up too, and grabbed Callie with them.

If you're ready, like I'm ready." Brandon sang.

Everyone was dancing and having a good time.

Tell me right now baby, baby." Connor sang. Jude nodded profusely, and Connor's dad laughed and clapped.

At this point even Jesus was grinning and dancing with the music.

I think I wanna marry you." Connor finished. Jude just grabbed Connor's head in his hands and kissed him. Everyone cried and cheered. Callie walked up to them. "You guys!" She squealed. "Congratulations!" They both beamed at her.

Soon, everyone was crowding around them. "I hope this didn't," Jude started "disrupt your big day." Connor finished. "Oh on the contrary." Zac said. "This was the best wedding ever." Mariana said.

The reception continued on long into the night, with more food, live music, and dancing. Everyone was happy.

"I love you." Mariana said to Zac.
"I love you more." Jude said to Connor.
