Dear Josephine,
I had smirked as I watched some guy stop you, look at you with concern and say something to you in the hallway.
You forced a smile and said 'I'm fine.'
I read it on your lips.
For a second, I thought I was staring at a reflection of myself from a few months ago.
'I'm fine.' My two favorite words of all times.
They were the trigger.
My smirk vanished. That's when my thoughts crashed, time stopped and memories -- awful memories began rushing like a movie in my head.
I had clutched my head and ran out fast as I could.
In that moment, I hadn't cared what everyone saw or thought.
I had to get out of there. But there was one thing that I did not miss.
The hint of a smile and the sound of a soft sigh as you realised you were safe for today.
Just for today.
conflicted,
Your Bully.
