Dear Josephine,
I scowled and turned around. You were a regular girl, maybe even a bit pretty.
I would've accepted your stuttering apology and moved on.
I would've said 'it's fine'. I would not have been what I am today if you hadn't knocked into me.
But I was the one who noticed the subtle stares and I was the one who noticed the hushed whispers.
All wondering what I would do next.
I was the new guy after all and they were all hunters waiting to put me into a cage. I did what I thought I should've done.
rueful,
Your Bully.
