[44] sunset

the sunset was casting a soft

rosy-pink glow over everything

as we drove home today

through the mountain passes.

they themselves were indigo shadows, but

in a majestic -

not menacing

way.

as we passed through the city

by way of the harbor,

i looked out the window again.

the clouds were streaks of scarlet across

a golden backdrop of mysterious infinity,

and the ocean - that stretched across over

the horizon, like silk - was covered

by a shimmering sheen

of silver,

and light was dancing on the waves.

there was one point of brightness in the sky:

airplane or star? / i couldn't quite tell.
