 Chapter five.

We moved around the ring, I kept my eyes glued to every movement he made. He threw a punch, and I moved away dogging it. He seems very eager to get the first hit, and he’s very silent with this expression; ‘I’m going to break every bone in your body.’  Just as I started a punch, he quickly rammed his fist into my face. The crowd ‘Ohhhed,’ and cheered Flents on. Just as the room quit spinning, another fist was in my face. The crowd continued to take pleasure in my pain, and went wild for Flents. I saw him chucking at my failure. The next punch he threw, I blocked. Then I felt some blood dripping from my nose.

Then he started backing me into the ring rails. Just as he threw a punch at me; I went lower and punched him in the stomach, and quickly jumping back up giving him a good knock in the jaw. But after that he threw his fist backwards- and before I knew it; the room was spinning again. I saw stars, and my hearing amplified with yells, and cheers. And just as my vision came back, he hit me again in the face. I found myself hung over the ring rails, and the room was darker than before with stars flashing before my eyes.  Then I heard someone yell,

“Get up.” And in the background I heard excitement from the crowd. Then I saw the mysterious girl that was smiling at me before; and she was at the bottom of the ring as she said,

“Hi.. You have two minutes left; you need to get back up.” Her voice was familiar, she had on a black hoodie, a hat, and sweat pants.

“Do I know you? You must be a fan.” I asked breathing very hard. But she just smiled; I just stared at her.

“Go if you’re going to beat him!”

“So I guess you noticed I’m here alone.” I answered.

“Go, go!” I nodded my head, and slowly stood back to my feet; raising my fists to block my face as I did. He looked me dead in the eye with this expression ‘you should’ve stayed down.’ His eyes said ‘I must win, and I would kill you to do it.’ He followed every movement I made; every time I threw a punch he would block, or sway to the left. It was getting down to the last minute, I was already so weak. The next thirty seconds, I blocked most of his punches. I had to come up with something. And as I started to think, he hit me again.

I saw that we had twenty seconds left, and I ignored his last punch. I swung my fist around the side where he wasn’t blocking, and popped him in the jaw.  I did the same to the other side. Once I drew my fist back to me, I punched him as hard as I could in the face, and did it again. Then I gave him one more punch in the jaw, and he fell over with twelve seconds left. The man went over and counted how many seconds he was out, and he pounded as he hit the ring floor in excitement,

“One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten!! That’s it! You win!” The man came over, and held up my arm for me; I was so weak I couldn’t do it for myself. And Eddie came up and lifted me off the ground and said,

“Good job buddy! Now I don’t have to beat him!” A smile formed my face in victory.

“No problem, bud.” I chuckled out of breath.

Then after I rested, I went into the locker rooms to get out of my boxing clothes. I turned my combination to its correct numbers, and slipped into my regular clothes. Then I looked over at the door opening, and saw that girl standing. I did the ‘double take’ twice. I finished putting on my shirt and asked,

“Were you watching me?” Her smile grew two times bigger. I couldn’t see her face just like before.

“Sure was.” I walked over to her, and cocked my head at her. She crossed her arms over her chest. I then grabbed her hat, and pulled off the hood of her hoddie.
