Alaria N. Palmieri. Age 16. Status- single. Best friend, Calliopie Tryst. Race- Shifter. Class- Wolf. Grade- 12. Loyal to the Royal Moon pack. There. I thought to myself. That should be enough information. I was currently setting up my facebook profile. I had never had one before and all of my friends had been urging me to get one. "Okay, now go add me." Callie said beside me. "Okay, how do I do that?" I asked. "Just go to the search bar and type my name in." I did that. I don't see her. Oh wait, never mind. "Okay, I did." "Okay, and now watch the friend request come rolling in." she said. "So, what do you wanna do now?" she asked. "Lets go to Marill's. I'm starving." I suggested. "Great! I'm starving too." She said with a smile.

Marill's Bar and Grill was the best place in town. It wasn't fancy, seeing as it was a bar, but it was a shifter hotspot. It was owned by Marill was a very nice pack elder. Few people knew this, but  Marill is just a nickname for Amaryllis. My grandmother, one of the few elders who even interacted with anybody besides the alpha. We walked in and sat down at the bar. "Hey Alaria, Calliopie. What brings you guys here?" Trenton asked from behind the bar. "What brings everyone else here?" Callie said. "Food." he said. "Food." I said. "Well, what would you guys like? Your usual?" he asked. "Yeah, that's fine. But I want a Lavender-Vanilla milkshake instead." I said. "Ooh, adventurous aren't we?" he joked. He gave us our number 86 and then disappeared into the kitchen. "Wanna play pool?" I suggested. "Sure, why not." she said. We walked over to the pool table. Nobody was playing right now. "Stripes or solid?" She asked me. "I don't care really." I said. "Well then I call stripes" she said. We played the game. I kept shooting scratches. I don't know why I suggested it. I suck at pool. I guess I was just bored. "Order up!" Trenton yelled. We went up to the bar and number '86' was sticking up out of our basket. "Guess this one is ours." I said. We walked back to our favorite bench in the corner of the restaurant. It was perfect because it was far from everybody but we could see and hear them perfectly. And it was a window seat.

"So," I started nervously. "Have you met him yet?" I asked her. I saw sadness pass over her face. "No, no I haven't." she said sadly. I reached across and patted her arm. "It'll be okay. You'll find him. I promise." Callie was about to turn 18 next month. When you turn 17 your mate hormones release so it will be easier for them to find each other. Every person is born with only one mate. When these hormones mix it creates some kind of chemical reaction which links the person together forever. The mate bond. It is unbreakable. And if a person's mate dies before they meet, then that person does not get another mate. They will then mate with a human, or another person who's mate has passed. But if a mate dies and they are connected, the other mate feels everything. They don't die when their mate is killed. But many of them go on to commit suicide because they can not live without their other half. Also, when you're mated, you get a mark. Male and Female. It can be anywhere your mate wants it. But it is traditonally done on the upper left shoulder by the crook of your neck. If your mate is an alpha is has to be there. So everyone will know you are an alpha too and respect you the same way. "What if he's dead Lari?" She was beginning to cry. "What if I never even got the chance to meet him." "Stop this Calliopie. I fully believe that you will meet your mate. I have a strong feeling that you will. It may be a few years down the road, but trust me on this. And never stop looking or settle for less." I told her. She stopped crying. "Thank you Lari. You're really my best friend." she told me. "And you are mine."
