Chapter 4

I sobbed. My own mother wouldn't be able to remember me. I could never

see her again.

Someone knocked on my door. "Can I come in?" I heard Alyssa's soft voice

peep through.

"Of course." I said.

"Thanks. What's a matter?" She asked seeing me crying.

"I called my mother." I said.

"Oh. She can come see you, you know" She said.

"No she can't. I wouldn't be able to keep my mouth shut." I said. "The

instant I see her I would tell her everything."

She sat next to me on my bed. "I'm sorry."

"It's okay." I stopped the flow of tears.

"I bet my brother told you the story." She said.

"What story?" I asked.

"About him running away." She said. "But he doesn't know what truly

happened."

"Okay then tell me." I said.

"When he left I felt empty. We were always tight, and he loved me. But when

he said he couldn't take me with him I crumbled inside. He gave me a

necklace, and just like that he left. Promising that he would come back. I

wore the necklace every moment, and when he didn't come back I died

inside."

She looked of into the distant. As if remembering that moment. "I wrote a

note and left my necklace behind. I ran away until I thought I would die. I

had no food, money, or anything. When he came. Carson. He offered me a

choice. Be a meal or become one of them. I didn't wait a second. I wanted a

new life. So he brought me to his father and he changed me. And I didn't

even feel the pain, I had wanted a loving family so much. He brought me

here and now I'm a part of the family." She trailed of.

"That's why you love Carson." I said knowingly.

She laughed. "I guess. Well tell me your story."

I told her everything. Even about my time at the pack.

"Wait back track. Why'd you try to die?" She asked.

"I... I didn't think anyone cared about me. No one wanted to be my

boyfriend. My parents tried to have another baby, and they forgot about me.

Rachal... my firend started to hang out with others. She only walked with me

after school." I said.

"That must of felt horrible. I would have killed myself to." She said sadly.

"But it didn't work. I failed at suicide." I laughed. "Wow that's weird. I

attempted suicide and I failed. Who fails suicide?"

She laughed to. "I guess only you."

"So what now?" I asked.

"You meet my father." She said.
