Chapter 3

The elevater dinged, as the door's opened. We got out and I was led to a

simple door at the end of a long hall way.

"We'll catch up with you later." Jason said with a cheesy smile.

"Yeah! I hope you like your room." Mitch also said.

Alyssa rolled her eyes. "Bye." She walked to another door and with one last

look at us she went in. Jason and Mitch each went to their own rooms leaving

me alone. Everyone was gone.

Nothing else to do but go in. I opened the door and gasped. The room was

exactly like my old room back home. One wall was a floor to ceiling window

with a great view of New York. A purple beaded curtain hung softly from the

top. The rest of the walls were a light green. There was a large closet almost

the size of the room next to a twin size canopy bed. The canopy and

comforter's were a beautiful gray. With one bright purple pillow. And on the

pillow was my old childhood animals. My patched teddy bear, and my ragged

kitty. On another wall was a large vanity. That held all sorts of makeup and

essentials. I opened the drawers and saw tank tops, bra's, panties, and socks.

I walked into the closet and gasped. There was every dress and shirt a girl

coud want. Pressed jeans were in piles, orgaized by color. I picked up a shirt

and pants. They were both covered in gems, and brilliant swabs of color. To

fancy for my taste but hey they were pretty.

I saw my burned clothing and decided to change. I put on a green button up

tank top, and a pair of jean shorts, with a green belt. I went through the

jewelry box and found a vampire fang's neck lace. "Ironic." I thought. I

matched it with black earings, and black bracelets. I lined my eye's with light

blue eyeliner. I finshed by strapping on a pair of black sandals.

I looked at the mirror. I looked fine. As I searched the room, I found a

blackberry cell phone. A note was next to it.

Call your parents.

No Way! I was not going to call them after all that happened. They'd call the

police on me. Or maybe they would believe whatever lie I told them. They

would think I was crazy.

I took hold of my thoughts and breathed deep.

My hands reached for the phone.

I'll just pretend I'm someone else. When I'm talking to them, I'll use a fake

voice, and act like a officer or something.

I dialed the number. 4456783. I've never forgotten it. The phone was ringing

until I heard a soft voice say.

"Hello?"

"Hello. Is this Mrs. Stewart?"

I asked using a much higher tone.

"Yes. Can I ask who's calling?" Her voice shaked.

"Yes." Fudge this, I'm telling her who I am. "It's... its me Mum. Hazel." Tears

threatened my eyes.

"No." She said. Her voice was flat. "This is a trick. Just like the last one.

Hazel's dead. They told me she's dead."

What? "But Mum its me. Don't you recognize my voice? What do you mean

the last one?" I sounded desperate.

She ignored my question. "She's dead. Stop making a mourning mother more

miserable then she has to be." She was crying I could tell. "I'm hanging up."

"No!" I yelled. "I can prove who I am."

"No you can't she's dead." She said stubbornly.

"Mum please just listen to me!" I cried. "Your name is Caroline. You husband

is Tyler Grant, and he loves your bubbly laugh. You go to a knitting club

every Wednesday and Friday. You hate rock and love classical music. You

have the same green eyes, and black hair as me. Well used to anyways. You

always loved to paint, and the day I left you were sketching a sloppy copy of

me."

"How do you know so much about me?" She gasped.

"I'm your daughter." I said.

"I want to see you in person." She said. "Is it truely you?"

"Yes its me. But you can't see me anymore." I said sadly. "You... you won't

recognize me."

"Yes I will. I will always know my daughter." She said.

"Really? I thought you thought I was dead?" I said.

"Oh. Well they said you were. I wasn't going to live my life wodering if you

were alive. It's better to let go then just keep hoping that my only daughter

was alive. I had no choice but to think you were gone. I loved you but I

couldn't ruin my life with a lost hope." She said intellagently, she had a good

point.

"I'm sorry Mum." I said suddenly.

"For what?" She asked.

"For everything." I whispered as I snapped the phone shut.
