MEGAN

It's been a month since my mothers funeral. It's been hard but everyday has been getting a little easier. Andrew is starting to do a little better as well and Jacob has been here for all of it. He's been really there for me since the day everything happened and all the days after leading up to today. I couldn't be more grateful for his support.

Frank came home a couple days after the funeral and when we told him the news about my mother he was devastated. He's still grieving but his health is doing a lot better so that's good, right?

I haven't been doing much today, just scrolling through my phone and watched some movies but again that's been my life everyday for the past month or so anyways. Today that changes, though.

My brother is forcing me to go out with Jacob tonight for some "get together" which i'm okay with, I just don't know how i'll react since I haven't been the most social but I guess we'll see. I don't want to go but I know it's for the best. It's my big step for moving on with my life.

It is now Summer and I am no longer in school. I am beyond thrilled. Honestly. This little happiness will only last me two months and a half so I have to make them count before I start my junior year of high school. Maybe i'll have my first alcoholic drink?

"Hellooo.." I hear a voice as my door creeks open slowly. I see a head peak into my room. It's Jacob.

"Where's the knock?" I ask lifting myself up into a sitting position. He rolls his eyes.

"I don't ever have to knock. I'm special." He says. I laugh.

"If that will help you sleep at night then keeping thinking that." I say. He acts hurt in a jokingly way. I laugh again.

"When do you wanna leave?" He asks sitting next to me on my bed.

"We can go now if you want. I'll just wear this." I say looking down at my basic outfit. Light blue jean shorts, a white long sleeve crop top, and white high top vans.

"Okay. Let's go." He says getting off my bed. I do the same.

We make our way downstairs to meet Frank and Andrew.

"How you feel, tough man?" I ask Frank. He just nods.

He's been real out of it since he's gotten back from the hospital. Not even just from my mother's death but because he's been doped up on drugs to heal and calm his pain from the accident. Good news is he won't be needing to take them much longer.
