After deliberating for quite a while that he was in fact being a jerk, and realizing that he may have snapped at Jane a little too soon - Xander began to chase after Jane.

"Look, I'm sorry. I've just been getting really annoyed easily lately. Can we start over? Hi, I'm Xander and you are?"

Jane was still put off by the way he was speaking to her before, but the way his eyes gazed into hers. She could not resist.

    "I'm Jane."

"It's nice to meet you Jane. Would you like to get some ice cream? My treat."

Xander and Jane began to walk to the dirty ice cream stand at the park across the street. Both didn't know what to expect.

The moment the ice cream hit their tongues, they tasted the sweet flavor of vanilla. Better than any ice cream they had before. A tingly sensation went from the tips of their tongues, and surged all the way to their fingertips.

"This is really good, what do you think Xander?"

"Yeah this is really good. I have to say though, when you said dirty ice cream. I gotta admit, I was pretty nervous."

"You've never had dirty ice cream before?"

"No, they don't have this back where I used to live."

"You didn't grow up here? Where did you use to live?"

"No, I moved here about a month ago. I've lived in Australia all of my life. What about you? Is this your first time having dirty ice cream?"

"The first time that I remember. I think I tried it years ago when my family came to the Philippines on vacation when I was a little girl."

"Oh, so you weren't born here either?"

"No, I moved here from America a few weeks ago."

"Oh, then why aren't you speaking English?"

"I promised my parents that I would talk in Tagalog as much as I can. I only speak it occasionally at home now. What about you, do you speak English?"

"Yeah, but I'm trying to talk only in Tagalog, so I'll get used to it."

    "Oh, I see."

"So Jane, can you explain to me what were supposed to do? You know for the assignment."

"You don't know what the assignment is?"

"Not really... I wasn't really paying attention. Didn't you think that our Professor was rude? Slamming the door, slamming his books. That dude was seriously not having a good day."

"I guess... Well, the easiest way to put it is that we have to trust each other."

    "What?"

"We have to trust each other completely, then present proof to the class."

Xander then looked at Jane with charm in his eyes, and made her heart skip a beat.

"Well in that case... Jane, are you ready to trust me?"

"Honestly, you didn't make a really good first impression, so we'll just have to see what tomorrow brings. See you later Xander."

With that last statement, Jane walked away from Xander not allowing him to get the last word. Xander was left alone in the park with the impression that he got more than what he's bargained for.
