Chapter 9

 

It has been 3 days since I kissed Derek. And two days since I got my job at the cafe down the road.

I slipped my black skinny jeans on and my blue T-shirt on. Followed by my black vans.

I quickly pulled my hair up into a ponytail and secured any flyaways down with some bobby pins.  

"Ok... Now where is my mascara?" I wondered out loud. I put some eyeliner on and grumbled as I went through my drawers.

"You know what?" I said to my dresser, "fuck you!" I flipped it off, I was NOT going to be late for my first day on the job!

I threw my purse over my shoulder and I stalked out into the living room,

"Bye Isaac!" I called as I made my way to the door, only to find Derek standing in front of it.

"Looking for this?" He tossed my mascara tube to me and I caught it.

"Thanks" I said breathlessly. He smirked, then he stepped closer and kissed my lips.

"Good luck on your first day" he said as he pulled away, then walked off some place in the apartment,

"Thanks" I whispered out, touching my lips slightly before smiling to myself and walking out of the house.

"Ok, so one coke and a mountain dew." I wrote down on the little piece of paper and quickly typed in the total to the register and looked back up to the young couple standing in front of me.

"That will be $4.70" I said with a smile and the boy dug in his pocket and pulled out a $5. I quickly gave him his change back,

"Thanks." He said as he led the girl to a table.

"Damn my stupid love life. Just one cute relationship! But no! I get... This!" I muttered to myself in frustration, I heard someone laugh and I looked up to see Alison; Scott's girlfriend. Standing on the other side of the counter,

"Oh! Sorry." I said, "I didn't see you there." She smiled,

"Oh it's fine! So... Boy troubles?" I rolled my eyes and nodded,

"Oh yeah." He giggled a little and leans onto the counter,

"Derek?" She asked, I have her a confused look. How the hell...?

"Um... How did you...?"

"Scott told me.... I hope you don't mind" I shook my head,

"Nope, because now you're caught up." She laughed and nodded,

"We'll I'm going to order 2 milkshakes, one strawberry on the other chocolate. And then a thing of fries, and can I have them to go? Scott is having me pick up food." I could basically hear the smile in her voice. I smiled at how happy Scott made her,

"Your lucky" I said, scribbling down her order on the sheet of paper and handing it back to the cook. "You have a guys who doesn't play with your emotions" Alison gave me a sympathetic smile,

"What did he do this time?" I sighed  

"We kissed 3 days ago... Didn't talk again until today when he kissed me goodbye and told me to have a good first day" she looked at me,

"And?" I shrugged my shoulders  

"And that's it." She let out a low whistle  

"We'll that's shitty." I nodded in agreement  

"You're telling me." She smiled sadly at me and shook her head,

"Well here." She ripped off a piece of paper and wrote her number down on it, "text me and keep me updated, or if you just want to talk." I smiled and pocketed her number before grabbing her food and handing it to her,
