Chapter Twelve: H's Not So Happy Birthday

Lottie's Point of View

I was woken by a thud. My eyes flew open and I sat up in a shot. I turned and Fred was laid in the floor next to his bed. It wasn't a dream this time. I looked up at Alex, who's back was facing me and quilt was pulled up to her chin. Of course there wasn't really room for two in a single bed, but you make it work. George stirred beside me,

"What ... Who?"

"Ssh, Alex just pushed Fred out of bed, that's all."

" ... Ha." George mumbled, turning over and snuggling up to the pillow. I sighed and gave up, slipping out of bed and leaving the three of them asleep.

After a daily toilet trip, I plodded down the stairs towards the kitchen. But the voices. I heard them, "There's no point, Molly. We might as well face facts."

"No! No, that is not right! That seems hardly fair!"

"Mum, c'mon. The Order's right, there's no use in denying it."

"Denying what?" I said after Bill. The whole kitchen of people turned to stare at me. Mr and Mrs Weasley, Bill, Fleur, Lupin, Tonks and Mr Tonks. They all stared at me, slightly wide eyed,

"How much have you heard?" Lupin asked me,

"Denying what?" I pressed on. Lupin looked flustered. He waved his hands a little and kept moving his mouth like a goldfish,

"You should be asleep! It's only nine o'clock!" Lupin comprised poorly. I raised an eyebrow,

"That is late for me." I said. Lupin nodded quickly in agreement,

"Erm ... Erm ... Erm ... Tonks! Tonks, tell Lottie--"

"The Order have basically given up." Nymphie said. Lupin stared at his new wife,

"Nympha--"

"Don't even bother." Nymphie looked under her nails. She then winked at me and I smiled,

"C'mon then." I dragged up a chair, "What we giving up on?"

"Well ... Well ..."

"We're giving up?" Alex asked as she walked into the room. Bill raised his eyebrows,

"I didn't think she'd be an early riser."

"I like to keep people on their toes." Alex nodded at Bill then jumped up onto a counter, swinging her legs as she waited for a response,

"The Order." Nymphie took the lead, "The Order are giving up. We've been betrayed once, who says it won't happen again? You Know Who is taking over. Nobody seems to be able to see a way around it, we're all out of ideas."

"We could straight up knock him. out" Alex suggested. Lupin frowned at her,

"This is actually incredible serious, Alex." He said, "We're fighting and we're not winning."

"Just an opinion." I raised a hand slightly, "But isn't giving up on the Order giving up on Dumbledore?"

"Exactly!" Mrs Weasley clapped her hands, "I tried to tell you dears but--"

"Giving up on the Order is being disloyal to the Order, and being disloyal to Dumbledore. We're not being a disloyal Order!"

"We're not water buffaloes!" Alex shouted. Everybody stared her,
