Nightmares and Insomnia

I like it when
Bright city lights
Drown out them
Deep darkened nights

The Bogeyman under my bed
Sighs
Calling scary dreams into my head
And I

Lash out
Scream, shout
Begging 'Sanity be saved
From His sad, despondent sights'

I quiver and I quail
Under covers- silk made
I shudder and I moan
As depression makes itself known

Night after night
Is passed in this fashion
Morning after morning
I work to tune it out

Day after day
I try and try to forget
But week upon week
I fail.
