You've made my life a mess
Hidden me away from the world
Tortured me on end
Not realizing the pain you cause.
You shadow me from the simplest things,
But leave me to fend for myself when everything gets
Tough.
The only place I've ever seen behind the open doors were the dark shadows you draped over me.
But not anymore
I'm done with the lies
I'm done with the pain
I'm done with the shattered heart I always tried to hide
Away.
I can't take your shadow anymore
The discomfort that comes with the dark
The torture that comes with the lies you told
The experiences I'll never gain.
Just listen to this plea for freedom once.
This plea for life
Love
Happiness
Because, frankly
Hiding in your shadow
Sucks.
