Chapter Six: The Other Side.

Status: Not Edited. (So if you find any mistakes, don't be afraid to tell me in the comments :) ...)

Delilah's perspective-

No amount of begging, threatening or pleading shook Mr Webb away from his decision. He simply stared at me with tired eyes and pursed lips. I felt contriteness grip my gut but pushed the feeling away. What type of guardian sticks the teenage girl he's looking after, with a hot teenage guy? We're that section of the human kind who're greatly hormonal. He must have known that. And why was I feeling so damn remorseful?

Maybe, it was because of the slightly pained expression that flashed past Nyle's eyes as he watched me beg to be away from him; or maybe it was because somewhere, deep inside of me, I did not want to be seperated from him. At the former thought, a sudden urge to embrace him took over me, and it took every single ounce of my resistance to fight that feeling.

"Enough Miss Storme," Mr Webb ordered, "One more word and you'll find yourself spending even more time with him." I raised my eyebrows and couldn't stop a sentence from slipping off my tongue, no matter how hard I tried, "But-"

"That's it. You're tutoring Nyle in all of the work he has missed."

"What?! But that's so unfair-"

"I warned you Miss Storme. Now, since you've already finished the work I had assigned to you, take Nyle to the library, where Mrs Lavender will brief you on what you have to teach him. Have I made myself clear?"

"Why do I have t-"

"Have I made myself clear?"

"Yes, but-"

"Good. Now go." Mr Webb informed us, before taking a huge gulp of air, sending a look full of remorse to Nyle, and heading back to his class. I sighed. Mr Webb had been acting stern with me ever since I fell under his care. I turned towards Nyle and found him watching me with his jaw clenched and his fire like eyes darker than they had been before. I felt a slight amount of sorrow prick my heart, but pushed it aside and returned his stare with a glare, "Follow me and don't slow me down."

~~

I felt like such an idiot, considering the fact that I was the one who seemed to be slowing Nyle down. Three of my strides equaled to one of his. It wasn't my fault that he had longer, stronger legs than I did.

Once we reached the library, I found Mrs Lavender who began to brief me on my duties as Nyle's 'guide' the moment she noticed me approaching her. The second she spotted Nyle, brooding and leaning against a shelf behind me, she turned from a thirty year old teacher, into a giggling and blushing school girl.

Cougar.

She moved past me and stepped closer to Nyle. "Well, Nyle," she purred, "They never told me how... attractive you were." she ended her sentence by laying a hand on his chest. "Ooh!" she giggled, "You're so hot! I mean, you're so warm."

I felt pure jealous burn at my heart and swatted her hand away from his chest. "I've been assigned to help him," I growled out, feeling my eyes burn a little and a rush of vigor gather at my hands, "If he needs anything he'll ask me. And he's so 'warm' 'cause it's cold in here, and so, his body's producing extra heat to maintain it's temperature. Now, thanks for telling me what I had to do, we don't need you here anymore." Mrs Lavender broke her gaze away from Nyle's face -which she had been admiring- to me and her eyes narrowed.
