[AUTHOR'S NOTE: Sorry if the character of the reader doesn't fit you. I just wanted to make you and L a little similar but not by much. Just follow along. It may be long and boring because of... well, you'll find out as you read, but I promise my idea for the ending is good!
As for the part to where it gets to Your Middle Name -aka [Y/M/N]- if you don't have one or don't like your middle name, just use a name you love. I couldn't come up with anything, so I made a part up.
As for Light's name in this chapter, I'm going to go with the original Japanese name in the anime series, Raito. If you watch and listen to the Japanese version of the anime series, you'll hear Raito instead of Light. It's just the translation.]

"I see you've made it here safely," a very familiar male voice said, causing me to look up away from my phone to the direction of the voice.
My jaw drops by four millimetres as I saw the two people standing in front of me.
"Hi. Is it okay for me to call you by your names?" I ask as I moved my carry on and put it down then went up the old man along with the pale skinned, raven haired guy for a hug.
"Just call me Benjamin." Wammy said as he hugged me. Everyone who knows his work uniform knows him as Watari; the contact for L. But if we said his alias, than everyone here would know who he is Watari and this other guy is L.
"[Y/N], just call me Ryuzaki." L says as he hugged me back and continued speaking, "I see you've been working on stuff other than your investigations." His eyes had never looked so wide as he touched that my stomach.
I sigh and look down at my baby bump which showed I was seven and a half months into my pregnancy, "Sadly, yes."
Wammy asks surprised, "Is it not a good sign that you're going to be living a happy life with this child and the father?"
Without moving a limb, I bluntly answer, "The truth is, the father left me and has refused to do anything with me or the baby."
"I'm deeply sorry to here that." L says.
"No, its my fault because of my unprofessionalism. It's what I deserve for getting involved with someone working under Optimal." I say remembering my second last aircraft investigation that had been held in the UK.
I may be an international investigator like L who works for no specific organization, but I most specialize in all types of aircraft crashes; including crashes and other aircraft failures caused by terrorism or similar.
Unlike the United States' National Transportation Safety Board or any other aviation investigation team, I don't hand over the investigation to the FBI or any sort of criminal investigation unit once I find out it's caused purposely by a human or humans. I continue investigating until I find out what really caused the crash or failure. And if needed - which is more than half the times- I give reference for the aircraft's manufacturer or the airline company who had bought the aircraft or the Federal Aviation Administration. Or if I really need to, all three.
The only times I really get the FBI or any criminal investigation unit involved or even L himself is when I know or I think I know when and how to catch the criminal or criminals who had caused aircraft crashes and failures. But the only reason for that is because I would have to need more than just myself to catch that criminal or criminals. The plans and everything else are planned before I contact them -or if I get stuck, L helps with the plan and gets credit- so I guess you could say that I am partially a crime investigator like L.
Like L who specializes in crime investigations, I too use an alias. The reason is, because some aircraft crashes or aircraft failures are caused by terrorism or similar, I also have to keep my identity safe in case terrorists plan to kill me before causing their trouble. I also have to use a breathing mask, a wig along with some contacts each time I investigate just so people don't recognize me well if they plan anything.
Because they know out of all the criminals who have caused planes to crash or fail since my career began, all had been caught and are now in prison.
So like L, I have to use an alias. That alias is [Y/N]. [Y/M/N] is my real name.
"If you don't mind me asking, what happened?" L asked.
"While I was working as O, -at the end of the investigation- one of the people working under me had toyed with my feelings to the point where..."
I whispered loud enough trying to continue. Before the words came out, L hugged me, "I see. You don't need to say anymore."
He lets go and asked, "Where are you going now?"
"Japan. A few years ago, Benjamin and I found out that I have an older brother from Tokyo, and we've been planning this visit for a while now. So Benjamin helped with how long I'll be able to be on vacation and which flights to take. As for the tickets, I was able to do that on my own. I'll be staying with him, his wife and child. He's about a few years older than you."
"I see. Which flight are you doing on?"
"AeroFrance flight 839."
"How convenient; we're on the same flight and we're going to same country."
"Really? Which seat are you guys on?"
L answers, "27B."
"28C." Wammy answered.
I smile, "That's great! We'll all be sittin-" I was cut off as a woman's voice came over the intercom saying that all passengers can now board AeroFrance flight 839.
We get into line and wait until we give the airline agents our tickets. They do their job, then tell us where to go to get to the plane.
As we get close to exiting the terminal, I could see the aircraft just outside the windows; a Boeing 777. It's so beautiful... Everything in the front end of the aircraft looks to be in good condition.
L snaps his fingers by my head to snap me out of my thoughts to point that were getting closer to the exit and if I keep going straight, I'll end up in the wrong aircraft. I take one look forward and see an L-1011.* Another beautiful aircraft, but not the one I'm scheduled to be on...
[*A/N: L-1011 is an aircraft mainly used as passenger jets. Company manufacturer -Lockheed Martin- says it is to be read and pronounced as L-Ten-Eleven.]
I stare at the jet as we get closer to the entrance. L's voice snaps me out of my thoughts, "I'm glad to see you haven't changed other than your weight." I smile and place my hand on my belly. I wonder if my baby will have the same passion for planes and jets like me? Sure, I investigate all sorts of aircraft crashes and failures, but I love planes and jets the most out of all kinds of aircrafts.
L and I are sitting right beside each other. Wammy has a seat behind our row.
L has the middle chair, I've got the window seat, but the aisle seat is free. I can't say how many seats are free because of how big this aircraft is, so I honestly don't know how many seats aren't taken.
"So, how long are you going to be in Japan for?"
"For at least twenty months. I'll be living with my brother until I can get my own place." I continue, "I'm guessing your next 'job' is in Japan?"
"Yes. In fact, I've never been more interested in this 'job' more than anything I've ever done. But if something proves me wrong, I'll have to go from country to country before finding this person of interest."
'Awe, I see now. That case.' I nodded. "Hopefully, well be able to see each other lots if you aren't too busy." I spoke my thoughts aloud.
When I realized I said that, I looked at L and saw his legs were a little shaky. I smile and place my hand onto his knee, "Don't worry, the ride will be okay. I'm right here if you need anything or if you need to know anything; remember, I'm a bit too much of an aviation geek so I know very well about aircrafts. Aircrafts now aren't like the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. In fact, there are more accidents and incidents on the ground nowadays than there are in the air. Traveling by air is so much safer than traveling by land or sea."
L stared at my hand then saw his legs stopped shaking. Finally he turned his attention to me. I smiled to reassure him. He smiled with his cute panda face and placed his hand over mine.
As he does so, the jet starts to take off, causing L to hold my hand slightly tighter. I look outside the window to see how much the ailerons, flaps and spoilers moved to help with the take off.
As we gain higher altitude, the ailerons and flaps go back to normal, I feel the heat on my hand, causing me to look back to L and see he was staring at me. "Is there anything wrong with me, Ryuzaki?" I ask wondering if there's anything on my face or I unknowingly said something weird?
"No, it's just you looked so lost for a moment."
"Oh no, that's not it. I usually love looking at the flaps and everything else when it comes to take off and landing. Also, just anytime in flight. To reassure myself that they're working properly and if it's gonna be a good flight along with a proper take off and landing."
"So, what do you think? Is it gonna be a good flight to Japan?"
"From what I've studied along with hearing the weather, most of the flight should be good. Judging from the ailerons, flaps and spoilers, they look like they're working properly. So it looks likes it'll be a good flight."
L smiled and let go of my hand as the seat belt sign was off. He unbuckled his seat belt and went back to his regular sitting position; legs to his chest and crouching.
I take out my book, All Four Engines Have Failed by Betty Tootell and start to read on. I feel L's head rest on my shoulder as I start to read. "Don't mind me, I just want to read along. You can continue with the part you're on." L said as he noticed my head shifted a bit to meet his gaze. I continue at the page I was on.
Twenty minutes pass, and only now I realize that L had fallen asleep on my shoulder. I smile as I heard his quiet breathing.

~Thirteen Hours Later~
"It was nice seeing you again, Ryuzaki, Benjamin. Email or call me if you need any help with your new job or anything else." I said before my brother and I left to go to his car.
"Will do. Have a safe stay; take care of yourself and the baby." L said while Wammy just waved smiled and goodbye.
My brother and I put my two suitcases in the back of his car.
We drove off to his and his place.

~Six Days Later~
I walk into the hotel room L instructed me to go to, and I see him, my brother and fouor other men.
"You never told me that you knew L." Shuichi said looking a little mad yet shocked. "I didn't know you and your coworkers were going to get involved, even if I did know, I wouldn't have told anyone."
"Your sister and I grew up in the same orphanage. Anyways, back to the subject. I know this isn't what you specialize in when it comes to investigations, but you still have a knowledge when it comes to crimes; that's what makes you Optimal. So I'm goi-" L was interrupted by Nii-san.
"You're the famous Optimal I hear about every now and then when an aircraft crashes or fails?" Nii-san asks.
The youngest man here who happened to look a year or two older than me asks, "Wow, Aizawa! You're related to a world famous investigator! That's so cool! You're going to be an uncle; is L th-"
"Matsuda, now's not the time to discuss that," an old man with glasses who looked to be in his forties or fifties said interrupting the man called Matsuda.
"Sorry," Matsuda apologized as he looked down in disappointment.
L continues in annoyance at all the interruption, "Like I said, you've got a little experience in the criminal world, but as a few of us know, those happened to be criminals targeting aircrafts. But I'm going to need you help prove that our main suspect could be a childish teenager."
The old man looked down in disgrace.
"Okay, let's hear it."
Judging from what's going on, I assume this is the first time Nii-san and his coworkers have met L himself. This is going to be a long night...

~Four Days Later~
"Well, I'm glad the plan worked. But I really am sorry about your son, Mr. Yagami. I didn't think it would be true either... Please don't misunderstand this situation for bad parenting? It's just as the Shinigami said, Raito just happened to be around when Ryuk dropped the Death Note; it wasn't fortunate at all. It's what the Death Note does to people. Bad things always happen to people with good intentions. Unfortunately for me, I understand that very well." I said while looking down at my baby bump.
"Okay, I understand."
"The good thing is, he's just in jail for a few years. It's not a death penalty, and he won't remember anything dealing with the Death Note because he gave up ownership of the notebook. Like we told you both while Raito was restrainted, we've made up a different story and made proof of the 'crime' Raito did and we gave it to the NPA. Raito understood enough to go through with the deal."
"Yes, thanks to you and L, my son can live. But I honestly don't know if I'll think of him the same ever again."
L says, "Well, Raito has an eighty-nine percent chance of come out as a better person at the end of the five years. As the shinigami said, him giving up the Death Note has made him forget everything about the notebook. So your son won't be the same person be was a week ago."
Mr. Yagami smiled sadly, "Yeah, you're right. As for the five years without him, I'll just have to force myself to forget."
We continued to try cheer up Mr. Yagami, and when he left, L and I sat down and drank tea.
"[Y/M/N], thank you for helping us out with the Kira Investigation; we wouldn't have been able to do this fast it without you." L said as he finished his cup of tea.
"It's no problem. If anything, it was the both of us along with the people you choose to help us out. I'm happy to help out anytime you need it. You've helped me out in the past with my investigations, I'll help you with yours. It's what friends are for."
L looked down and stayed silent for a moment until he stood up and walked up to me. He grabbed my hand and helped me stand up. He asks, "Is that all I am to you? A friend?"
My eyes widen with shock.
"I'm ninety-nine percent sure I am in love with you. All I need for me to be a hundred percent sure is you; you're the one I need." L said as he moved the hair out of my face to look me right in the eyes.
I open my mouth to say something, but I can't. That pick-up line was just so... him... L loves me...
With that, I stand on my tippy toes and kiss him.
His arms hold me to be sure nothing clumsy happens during our kiss.
Now I understand why I did what I did earlier this year in the UK. That guy's facial features looked too much like L. L was the one I really wanted to be with and have children with. That guy was just a replacement for L. I missed him so much at the time, I just did anything to make the hole in my heart filled. So it felt like it would be filled...
But we can still try once I've given birth to this baby. Anything for L and I to be happy. I'll give birth to as many children L wants to have.
