Lola

Grabbing her bag she closes her locker and starts to make her way out of the room. Her friends had already left since their rides were very impatient, they asked to drop her but she quickly declined and promised she would see them later for their girls’ night. Like Diana said it had been awhile since they’ve just hung out and she was sorta excited. Closing the door behind her, her eyes land on her dance teacher and maths teacher who were talking quietly amongst each other a little too close for her liking. She shouldn’t be feeling, dare she say it, jealous, but she was and she didn’t like it. “Bye Ms Ryan” she calls out with a fake smile on her face

Her teacher smiles, “See ya tomorrow Lola”

Quickly she leaves the room and starts walking down the nearly empty hallway. What the hell is wrong with me? I need to get a grip. Walking out of the school into the warm air she breathes out. There was just something about the wind that always made her smile, yeah she’s weird

“Lola?”

She looks up surprised, “Ella? What are you still doing here?”

“My boyfriend kinda bailed on me” she mumbles

Lola bites her lip, Ella’s boyfriend was a #1 douchebag, hot yes but he was just not the kind of guy who a sweet girl like Ella should be with, “Do you have a ride?” she asks noticing that her friend wasn’t really comfortable

“No, but I don’t really live far so I’ll be fine”

“Which way are you heading?”

“Left”

Lola beams. “Then we can walk together” they share a smile and just like that they were on their way.

“So Lola, what got you into dancing?” Ella asks clearly trying to make a conversation but Lola wished they she could have asked something else, something that didn’t bring back memories

“My parents we- uh are into dancing and I just kinda went along with it”

The black haired girl looks at her with eye brows raised “You know it’s strange Lola, no one had met your parents”

Lola’s eyes widen. “Um”

“Don’t worry I won’t push it but you should know I won’t dare to tell anyone” she sincerely says with a smile, “Scout’s honour!”

“Didn’t you get kicked out?”

She blushes, “Oh yeah”

Lola laughs lightly rolling her eyes, “Don’t mind me, but what’s up with you and your man?”

“A lot really, but we’ll work it out and before you say it, yeah I know my boyfriend can me a jerk but he’s mine”

“Seriously?”

Ella smiles looking a little dazed “When you’re in love this stuff doesn’t really matter”

“Why is everyone falling in love all of a sudden?” Lola mumbles to herself earning herself a laugh
