so a couple of weeks ago i was watching fall out boy interviews and (if you don't know who's who, i mean the lead singer) patrick was talking about having what he called synsthesiaso i was like 'aw poor patrick whats that' so i then proceeded to look it up and stuff - i then found out its where his brain, and a lot of other people's brains, associate colours with letters
and they don't mean to, it just happens
so i was like 'oh thats fine few okay patrick is fine'
but then....i scrolled down.
and i came across something called 'chromesthesia' so i read about that
and its where your brain associates sound with colours
and that happens to me
i was sitting there, shaken up from realising that this doesn't happen to everyone
for years i thought everyone was meant to feel red while listening to give me love by ed sheeran, that everyone thought of orange while listening to this gospel by panic! at the disco
i don't have to think about it, my brain just does it automatically
wonderland by taylor swift is purple, uma thurman by fall out boy is almost a neon pink
theres so many songs that now have weird colours attached to them due to my brain
but then, it gets weirder - i don't think you're ready
sometimes, if i feel the colour strongly enough, when lyrics to the song are written down i briefly see them in the colour i feel
the best example of this is when i had halsey lyrics written on paper hung up on my wall and my friend complimented it
and i, in full confidence, said: 'i wrote them in blue because thats the colour i think of while listening to the song'
this received me a strange look
then, my friend said: 'thats not written in blue, its written in black'
IT WAS?? IT WAS WRITTEN IN BLACK??
when i looked at it closer i saw black and not blue
so weird
so, tell me: does this happen with any of you guys? or do you have synsthesia?
thats all for today, thanks for reading!
