Just as fine as fine can be

By Dana Young

I met a boy today.

Just as fine as fine can be.

With skin the sun made dark

And a smile as white as bleach.

Lean, serene, on top of his game.

Everybody knows his name.

A walk that strikes envy in males

Who picture him in themselves.

Sure of himself without narcissism.

We hit it off, a euphemism

For a great start.

At first glance he had my heart.

I met a boy yesterday.

Just as fine as fine can be.

With eyes that resemble chocolate,

And dimples in both cheeks.

Tall, athletic, sympathetic.

Funny with a serious side.

All that! and a nice ride.

Made me want to smile and jump for joy.

Can't believe I just met this boy!

I met a boy last week.

Just as fine as fine can be.

Kept calling, wouldn't let me sleep.

Great company.

This one is for keeps!

I met a boy last month.

Just as fine as fine can be.

Turns out he wasn't right for me.

It was good, fun and crazy.

But I can not be his baby.

There's a girl pushing a stroller with a toddler.

And he just might be the father...

His life is no longer a mystery.

So what we had is history.

He's the playa of the century!

I met a boy last year.

Just as fine as fine can be.

But attached to him was his playa history.

All the lies he told made sweet memories sour.

His inner beauty left, his smile lost its power.

I found and lost a boy, or maybe he lost me.

We are history, but he...is just as fine as fine can be.
