The Story of Me

This isn't the Story of ME
But the Story of a Girl Set Free.
Who lived the life made out for me
And tried to find my hidden qualities.
But found more secrets buried deep.
So deep within it was hard to sleep.
A girl who sought an exit out of me.
That my outer self compressed successfully.
Now she resurfaces, gasping for air
Trying to grasp for oxygen that isn't there.
Gulping in strands of borrowed oxygen.
Knowing that she's got to win.
"Against all odds", in the words of Mariah Carey,
Got to make her future bright even though the dark is scary.
Reaching for the ultimate goal: Freedom.
Supporting people like her former self, to lead them
Away from the path of destruction and misery
And uphold them in peace and victory.
As I said earlier, this story is not about Me
But about the girl inside who was set free.
