-instead of only showing up occasionally, Alain visits Ash and the group a lot more often. He considers Ash a good friend, but mostly does it to see his progress in perfecting Ash-Greninja.

-Charizard knew as early as their first battle that Greninja would be someone worthy of calling his rival. Beyond fighting, though, the two begun hanging out and talking more when they got the chance. They became as close as brothers. The usually grouchy, stoic dragon found someone he could trust.

-Braixen took notice of how close the two had become, and decided to approach Charizard about it. She'd had a crush on Greninja for a long time now, and hoped the dragon had at least SOMETHING he could tell her about Greninja.

-He did tell her, but only after a LOT of begging on Braixen's end. Charizard wasn't an easy guy to talk to. Greninja loved battling as much as his trainer did, but he knew when to take it slow and relax. Charizard knew that the fox and frog were already close friends, so there was no reason why he wouldn't want to be near her.

-Charizard then asked Braixen why she wanted to know this kind of stuff so badly. She blushed and looked away from him, but eventually admitted that she loved him. Charizard just scoffed.

-He wasn't laughing at Braixen for feeling the way she did, far from it. He was quick to reassure her of that. He just told her that if she was looking for love advice, she came to the wrong person. Charizard didn't know the first thing about how love worked, nor did he care. He told her to just suck it up and admit it to him.

-After a day or two of dwelling on Charizard's advice, she finally sucked it up and approached Greninja. She sat him down, and told him how she felt. If he didn't feel the same, then at least they'd still be good friends. Luckily for her, that wasn't the case, and she was in for the shock of her life when Greninja unwrapped his tongue scarf to plant a kiss on her muzzle.

-By the time Charizard saw Braixen again a week later, there wasn't a moment when he didn't see her not around Greninja. He couldn't help but chuckle to himself, satisfied that his blunt advice seemed to work. Once the two approached Charizard a little later, Braixen thanked the dragon for his advice, wrapping him in a hug.

-Charizard was a bit caught off guard, and gently broke out of the hug, saying he wasn't really the cuddly type. Greninja laughed. "Aw, is the big, scary dragon allergic to gratitude?" Charizard just snorted at him. "Another word outta you, and I'll be having fried frog legs for dinner."

-Charizard surprisingly found himself growing a little bit fond of Braixen. The vixen's cheerfulness was infectious, and he couldn't help but break out into a smile, even if only a small one, when he talked to her. The two were on a path to friendship.
