The two friends sat perched on the edge of the cliff, a serene spot amidst the rugged landscape. Lilith, with her air of mystery, poured wine into their cups as they settled in for a heart-to-heart.

"Tell me about yourself, Shadowheart," Lilith prompted, her voice carrying a hint of curiosity.

Shadowheart hesitated for a moment, pondering her response. "I like night orchids and I don't know how to swim, how's that?"

Lilith chuckled softly, the sound mingling with the gentle breeze. "It's certainly a start."

With a graceful pour, Lilith filled their cups, the rich aroma of the wine mingling with the crisp night air. Shadowheart countered with, "I have very little to share. I'd honestly prefer it if you told me more about yourself."

Lilith took a deep breath, her gaze wandering momentarily before settling back on her companion. "Let's see...I'm an orphan, in a way. Not sure if my parents are alive or not, but they didn't care to keep me around. I survived on my own for a while before I stumbled onto a festival held to honor Dionysus. The rest is history."

The weight of Lilith's words hung in the air, a solemn reminder of her past. "That must have been very difficult," Shadowheart remarked, her empathy evident.

"Yes, it was," Lilith admitted, her gaze drifting to the wine in her cup. "But there's no use in dwelling. I found love on my own terms. Ultimately a happy ending."

Shadowheart nodded, acknowledging the resilience in her friend's story. "Except for the mindflayer abduction," she added with a hint of sarcasm, lightening the mood.

"How could I forget?" Lilith replied wryly, a playful glint in her eyes.

As they shared a moment of laughter, Shadowheart couldn't help but shift the conversation to a more personal realm. "So, you and Gale?"

Lilith's expression softened, a mixture of longing and uncertainty flickering across her features. "There isn't much to say, at least for now. He shuts me out as soon as I get close enough."

"And you?" Lilith inquired, turning the focus back to her companion.

"I...don't know," Shadowheart confessed, her gaze drifting to the moonlit forest below. "He seems disinterested. He's kind but his eyes are empty."

"Just our luck to be stuck with a camp of beautiful, complex men," Lilith remarked, a playful glint returning to her eyes as they shared a knowing smile.

In another secluded corner of the campgrounds, Astarion took a moment to ensure he wouldn't attract any unwanted attention before slipping away. He descended a gentle slope and stumbled upon a picturesque scene illuminated by flickering candlelight. The soft glow danced upon the water, infusing the air with a delicate fragrance of roses. There, beneath the cascading waterfall, stood Christinus in his natural form, the water cascading over his bare skin as he rinsed his hair.

"I'm pleased you decided to join me," Christinus greeted him with a warm smile as he emerged from the falls, his fingers combing through his damp locks.

Astarion's gaze lingered, appreciating the sight before him. "This is quite the unexpected pleasure. Not that I mind the view."

"Come, don't be shy," Christinus beckoned him closer, his tone inviting.

Astarion hesitated, his eyes tracing the moon's reflection in the water below. It had been an eternity since he had felt the cool embrace of running water like this. Despite the parasite that had granted him freedom from his undead curse, there was still a lingering unease, a remnant of his former life that tugged at his instincts.
