Haseena and Karishma stood near the door for Santosh, Cheeta and Sachi.
"Santu, what's taking you guys so long" Haseena chided
"Haseena, relax honey, we are going to a temple, it's fine we are not on time" Karishma tried to ease her tensed finance
"You know I hate being late" Haseena exclaimed
"And you still manage to get late when we are going out on a date" Karishma raised her eyebrows challenging her
"Because I don't like waiting and I love how you sit in your car waiting for a glimpse of me" Haseena winked at her
"I have to say, you always manage to leave me speechless" Karishma leaned forward pecking her lips, leaving a wide-eyed Haseena to deal with the aftermath
"Hasu maa! Buddy!" Sachi ran to them, Haseena swooped up Sachi in her arms
"Finally!" she kissed her and loudly announced
"Santu, we are taking Sachi to the car, if you guys are not here in 10 minutes, we are going to leave you"
"Okay" Santu shouted from her room
Karishma slid behind the wheel with Haseena beside her, and Sachi stood in the middle at the back animatedly explaining things happening in her school to both of them,
"Buddy, we are going for Ice-cream after temple, right?" said Sachi looking at Karishma with her puppy eyes
"Of course, how can I say no to my princess" Karishma kissed her temple
"Yeah!" Sachi exclaimed in happiness, Haseena smiled at the duo who were seriously discussing their ice-cream choices, nodding her head in dismissal, she took the bottle drinking some water although her concentration was on their conversation
"Buddy, I like honey, chocolate chips and almonds on my ice cream. What do you like?"
"Hmm... I like ice cream over honey, isn't honey?" Karishma winked at Haseena, making her choke on her water
"Karishma!" Haseena chided as her ears and cheeks turned red
"What! I just said I like ice cream on honey, not honey on ice cream, however I don't mind which were way" Karishma smiled showing all her teeth, making Haseena blush harder, leaving a confused Sachi
Santosh and Cheeta swiftly sat inside the car, taking Sachi into her lap she said"Sorry guys and Hasu why are you so red? Are you feeling alright?"
"Ha... ha... I... I am... fine" Haseena fumbled
"Are you sure?" Santosh frowned
"Yes, it's just a little hot out here" Haseena tried to smile; Santosh nodded still frowning
"Mumma, Buddy said she will take all of us for ice creams afterwards and said she loves ice cream over honey, from them Hasu maa is not feeling well" Sachi spiled in her innocence, leaving both Haseena and Karishma embarrassed
"Ohh... then your Hasu maa is perfectly fine" Santu giggled and continued "and if you both are done being embarrassed, we should go, we are already late"
"Santu" Haseena said sternly and looked at Karishma, Karishma gulped looking at the angry lioness beside her, "Shit, I am dead" Karishma murmured under her breath as she started the car.
A few years later:
Karishma, Haseena, Santosh and Cheeta sat on the couch waiting for some special people to make an appearance in Cheetosh's house
"We are going to be late for our party" Santosh shouted
"Coming Mumma" Sachi came down holding the hand of an 8-year-old girl
"How come you get to wear a new dress, when it's Kareena's birthday" Santu exclaimed
"Because Sachi is my best friend" Kareena hugged Sachi and turned towards Haseena
"Maa, we are getting late"
"God! Your daughter is the same as you, it's like watching mini-Haseena" Santu rolled her eyes
"That's the reason she loves you as much as I do" Haseena said staring at Santosh who hugged Kareena and kissed all over her face making Kareena giggle at her antics
"Yes! I love my mini maa" Kareena hugged Santosh
"Are you happy finally gifting your Sachi a new dress?" Karishma held Sachi's hand
"Yes Mom" she held Karishma's other hand and pulled her down,
"Mom can I come with Sachi? Please!" Kareena pouted, Karishma looked at Haseena and nodded yes,
"Thank you so much Mom/buddy" both shouted hugging Karishma and running towards the car, Haseena and Santosh looked at them teary-eyed
"They do remind us of our childhood" Haseena hugged Santosh and made their way to the car hand in hand, Karishma looked at Cheeta and said
"How come they both love each other so much that they forget they have partners too"
Cheeta chuckled "Welcome to the team buddy! Slowly you'll get used to it", Karishma chuckled rolling her eyes
The party is at its full high, children immersed in their games, parents talking to each other in groups, waiters carefully moving with food not to get knocked by children, and laughter and giggles filling the garden which is meticulously decorated under the strict supervision of Karishma.
Karishma sat on the couch at the far end of the garden, relaxing after the strenuous work from the past three days trying to get the catering, venue, decoration and her pilling office desk, Haseena saw Karishma sitting to a side crossing her legs and her hands spread over the backrest of the couch, her eyes closed and her head resting on the back, Haseena walked up to her and sat leaning on her, sensing her Karishma opened her eyes and kissed on her temple.
"Tired?" Haseena asked
"Hmm..." Karishma sighed looking at her,
"Wait" Karishma frowned "Are you wearing kohl?" she asked surprised, Haseena who avoided applying kohl as she felt her big eyes look even bigger, smiled at her
"Well, someone said to me, whenever they sit by me and look into my eyes, they feel like my eyes drown them more in love. So, I thought the bigger the eyes, the more they drown" Haseena winked at her
"You are going to be the death of me, woman!" Karishma murmured under her breath as she pulled Haseena into a passionate kiss, she deepened it as Haseena responded in the same passion
"Get a room you two, there are children here!" Santosh's words brought them back to the present
"Romance villain!" Karishma murmured grumpily earning a chuckle from Haseena
"What?" Santosh rolled her eyes
"It's time to cut the cake," Cheeta said glaring at his naughty wife, who never misses a chance to tease her best friend
"Come on, let's go" Haseena stood up dragging Karishma with her, as they followed Cheetosh hand in hand
"let's continue when we get back home" Haseena pecked her lips and left towards Kareena leaving a blushing Karishma
"This woman! Nah! My woman!" Karishma chuckled and made her way to her family.
