Chapter 26: The last day

All the Madrigals and the Rivera's were at the river having a nice picnic dancing and having fun and laughing.

"So last day before we go back how do we feel?" Isabela asked

"Nervous to say the least". Miguel smiled

"Don't worry Primo it can't be that bad". Rosa called

"No it's worse". Miguel replied

"Ay Mijo and your dramatics it's not gonna be as bad as you think". Imelda rolled her eyes

"I highly doubt that Mamá Imelda ". Miguel replies

"Still we are all in this together no matter what ". Pepa smiled

"Si, we were brought together for a reason and I for one think this is the best thing we've ever experienced am I right?" Felix coaxed

"Your right Felix no use wallowing in self pity we are all here to face our past and settle with it". Franco stated

"Si". They nodded

For the next couple of hours there was deep conversation and games around that river and the Rivera's and the Madrigals had gotten this far and built close relationships and new friendships they weren't going to give up now.

Mirabel could see the worry on Miguel so she went over to talk to him as he was skipping rocks to try and get rid of his worries.

"What you doing?" She questioned

"Nothing just thinking ". Miguel shook his head

"Seems more like taking your worry and anger out on rocks". Mirabel jokes

Miguel didn't laugh and looked straight towards the water.

"Hey where's that smile gone". Mirabel looked sincere

She tilted his head towards her and smiled gently somehow that brightened his mood she always How to make him smile.

"Why do you do that?" He asked

"Do what". She replies

"The smile you know it weakens me every time you do it ". Miguel smiles

"Just so I know it works". Mirabel replies

Mirabel then hugged him gently and she smiled showing she understood him without any words needed to be said.

"I am just worried that it won't go right". Miguel spoke

"What do you mean?" She asked needing further explanation

"Well what if we see Ernesto it's just gonna cause more trouble and he ruined our family once I won't let him do it again". Miguel stated

"Especially when it comes to Socorro or Papà Héctor ". He adds

"If That happens I'll be right here and I won't hesitate to punch him or torture him if need be I mean he's hurt you long enough from what I hear". Mirabel's determination settles in

Miguel chuckled at the thought at getting revenge on Ernesto and his Mira punching him so hard with the boot or her hand.

"I can imagine that". Miguel laughs

"Well I would". Mirabel replies

"Family defends family and the ones they love Besides just like Tia said we are all in this together for as long as it takes". Mirabel replies

"Si". He nodded

"Come and dance you know that always cheers you up". Mirabel asked

He nodded and took her hands gently and started dancing and laughing somehow Mira always knew how to put his fears at rest.

So with that they danced and the rest of the day , they danced swam and had light Conversation as they knew they were all in this together for as long as it took enjoying the last moments before the next adventure.
