Karen had just taken the girls out of the bathtub wrapped towels around them and put them on her bed while she went to get their new night clothes she had just gone to get them from the store last minute and unexpectedly. In the middle of dressing the twins, they started complaining.
Nova: Im hungy
Karen: You not hungry you need to go to bed
Nova: No I'm hungy *stomping*
Karen: Little girl don't make me say it again. Go lay down!
Nova: *pouting*
I'm hungggggggggyyyy
Karen: I don't know what you do with your momma but you with me now so you gone learn some respect and go lay your behind down. You hear me?
Nova: Yes ma'am *tearing up*
Karen: Now come over here and put these clothes on so you can go to bed you'll eat in the morning
Karen put Nova's clothes on then Nola took the opportunity to throw the lotion bottle at Karen.
Karen: Girl!! Now you know doggone well not to throw that. Go pick it up!
Nola: No!
Karen: Pick it up.
Nola: No.
Karen: Okay I got something for you.
Karen left the bathroom and went to her bedroom to grab her best friend ever since she had kids and went back to the bathroom with Nola and Nova standing there. She grabbed Nola's arm and swung the belt at her.
Karen: Pick it up.
She said sternly while gritting her teeth.
Nola: Okay...
Nola said with her lip quivering.
Karen: It's, 'yes ma'am' to your bad behind.
Do you understand?
Nola: Mhm.
She shook her head with tears in her eyes.
Karen: Use your words.
Nola: Yes ma'am.
Nova: Nola bad?
Karen: Yes. Nola's is being bad. You bet not try it.
Nova: Okay
Nola said in her soft-spoken voice.
After Karen got both the girls ready for bed she took them into the guest room and laid them in bed.
Nola: Me get in you bed
Karen: No. You sleep in this bed.
Nola: No me No.
Karen: Nova-
Nola: No me Nola
Karen sighed still not seeing the difference between the twins. Yes, they're twins but there would and should be some kind of difference.
All she knew was one was bad and the other was easier to work with.
Kierra: Ma you need help with anything?
Karen: No, you should be in bed.
Kierra: I know I'm heading there now, I was in the basement
Karen: What is up with you and the basement?
Kierra: Well Mommy if you may know.
You said when I turn 13 I turn the basement into my room so Daddy and I are working on it.
Kierra said sarcastically and Karen remembered saying that years ago.
She was surprised that Kierra even remembered her telling her that.
Kierra: Okay well goodnight Mommy.
Goodnight Nola and Nova.
Later that night
Kierra snuck out of bed and went downstairs to get the house phone. She then went to the basement closing the door behind her and sat on the steps. Dialing a familiar number...
The phone rang a couple of times then a familiar voice answered on the other side of the phone.
Unknown: Hello?
The voice said faintly...
Kierra: Hey, the basement is ready for you.
Are you on the way?
Unknown: I am. Pops just picked me up from the station and we're about 34 minutes out.
Kierra: Okay cool, I'll see you when you get here. Safe Travels.
Unknown: Thanks Ki boo!
Kierra: I love you. I can't wait to see you.
Unknown: I can't wait to see you either and I love you too!
