She Disappears

Found a photograph as I was moving out
of a girl I once thought was my other half.
It's still the same, just not for her. 

And I know her name, her brother's fears,
and that I once was there behind her tears.
I'm sorry still, but she'll never care. 

She's in the walls under my skin,
she's the sweetest pain I keep within.
She's all I want, but I'll never get back.
She's haunting me, she doesn't know.
I held on because I couldn't let go.
She hates me now, but I love her so...bad. 

I have this dream, it's hard to wake;
every person has her face
and she disappears without a trace. 

Call it a memory, or something real.
The smallest detail, now the biggest deal.
Is this the way it will always feel?

Her laugh helps me feel like nothing's changed.  
I know that I'll miss her all my days.
