Hey darling, sorry I haven't been in touch before now. I was really busy doing debrief stuff from Zandvoort then straight into prep for this weekend. I am in Canada now, I'm not sure what the time difference is so we might be best emailing this weekend. Croatia looks nice, I have never been but I would love to visit it. I have cleared it with Zak and Andreas that I can fly straight to Austria from here so I will be able to spend a few days with you before the race - is that okay with you? Have a good day sweetheart xx

Caitlyn's mood instantly picked up after hearing from Lando. She packed up her things and headed out to explore. She had booked a boat trip out to see the blue caves and then they were going on to an island for a barbeque. She was a bit nervous about spending the day with strangers but she was also excited for some other human interactions. The day was magical and she met 2 couples who were also travelling around Europe. They were from Devon. It felt nice to make some friends and especially people from back home, they made her feel less homesick instantly and they had a great day together. They even planned to spend the following day going to a zipline near the city. Caitlyn was happy she was getting to experience these things with others. The zipline was really scary and she screamed the whole way but the adrenaline rush she got at the end was like no other. 

Her new friends were leaving the next morning so they swapped contact details, hoping to meet up again further on their travels. They all ate together at a local restaurant and shared many stories from their travels and back home. Obviously Caitlyn didn't mention Lando. It would be unfair to him and anyway they weren't dating or anything so it would be weird. 

It was now Sunday and Caitlyn had settled in at her hostel with her laptop ready to watch the Canadian GP. Lando had qualified in 7th which she thought was good but she still didn't have much clue. She had been trying to learn more about it when she had spare time so she could show Lando she was interested. It was 7pm her time when the race was due to start, and most people had gone out for the night or moved on from the shared accommodation so she had peace and quiet to watch the race. Unfortunately things didn't go to plan for Lando and he finished in 13th. Caitlyn knew he would be disappointed so she thought she would try to cheer him up with a cute message

Caitlyn- I'm sorry for your result today babe. I am sure next weekend will be better. And now it's finished, you can get your butt on a plane to come ski with me xx 😘

Lando- Babe?? that's new 😜I am flying overnight so I will be in Austria by 9:30 tomorrow morning. Looking forward to seeing you x

Caitlyn was booked on a bus, leaving at 3am. It was the only time she could get that would allow her to be at the airport for Lando arriving. It was going to be a long day but she was really excited to see him. She just had a feeling it was going to be a good week.
