"We're here! "
Once the car was parked, Eunji immediately takes off her airpods before getting out of the car.
She helps her mother with the baskets, folding chairs and other things they needed for the 'picnic'.
Eunji's mother wanted a simple celebration for her birthday. So they ended up going out and celebrate in a certain park that surrounded by tall trees. The view is full of greenery and different color of flowers.
Eunji's father began taking out some of the things as well while her mother sets the sheets.
Mango graham, carbonara, pizza and raw meat were the only food they prepared. Eunji helped her mother sets the food on the sheet while her father is busy fixing the folding chairs.
"I told you, dad. We should've stopped by the cake shop to buy one. " Eunji spoke.
"But your mother doesn't want to. " Mr. Shin replied.
"It's not that I didn't want to. We already brought too many foods, we cannot finish all of these. What more if we add a cake? " Mrs. Shin reasoned.
Eunji pouted. "You have nothing to blow. " She sighed, puting the cola to the side. "Blowing the candle is the most important part though. "
"Hushh, just help me set these. "
She pursed her lips and did what she was told. She helped her mom to set everything before they started grilling the beef.
In the midst of the happy moment between her family, Eunji spotted a familiar matte black car parking just beside their car.
She squinted her eyes to get a better view. Her eyes immediately widened when a familiar man gets out of the car, holding a box.
Noticing the reaction her daughter pulled, Mrs. Shin followed her gaze and saw the man she invited earlier at the mall.
Eunji stood up, mirroring her mother 's movement.
"Am I late, Mrs. Shin? " Jake's voice was so oddly good in her ears.
Mrs. Shin smiled. "No, you just made it right in time. "
Eunji looked at her mother then to her father who is obviously acting innocent as his eyes set to the grilling pan while whistling. Eunji moved her gaze back to Jake who is smiling to her mother.
"What are you doing here? " She couldn't help but to ask.
"Eunji." Mrs. Shin gave her daughter the looks. "I invited him. Jake, right? Go seat beside Eunji. "
Jake smiled politely and greeted the woman before obliging. He walked towards Eunji's side.
Eunji, couldn't help but to stare at him. She watches him takes out the cake and lighten the candle.
She sighed, shaking her head. She looked at her mother who just winked at her.
Really, mother?
They sang her mother a happy birthday before they started eating.
