Chapter XII - Snowball Fight

Winter was getting closer and closer every day. Rain turned into snow and Hogwarts was getting festive.

"Severus?", I asked.
"Yes?"
"Where will we be at Christmas?"
"I always went home, but if you prefer to stay here we can too", he responded.
I nodded.
Ginny was going home and Luna also, so there was no point in staying.
"I think I want to go home for Christmas"
"Alright then", my godfather agreed.

Me, Ginny and Luna were going to Hogsmeade for Christmas shopping.
I was meeting them by the entrance.
Right now though, I was still in my dorm, getting ready.

I quickly wrapped my Slytherin scarf around my neck, took my black purse and walked out. Ginny and Luna were already waiting for me.

"Liv! Finally", Ginny cheered.
"Hello there", Luna greeted me.
"Hi! Sorry I'm late", I apologised.
"Shall we go?"
"Yeah!"

"Hogsmeade in winter is so beautiful", I exhaled.
"Yup! Sure is", Ginny agreed.
"Let's go to... that shop!", Luna pointed at a navy store nearby.

We went inside and looked around.

Hmm...
What should I buy for my godfather?

That's when I spotted a silver ring on one of the shelves.

"Excuse me?" I asked one of the employees
"Can I get this engraved?"
"Of course ma'am", the employee replied.
"What would you like the text to be?"
"A short 'S. S.' please", I requested.
"Great. That will be 6 Galleons. It'll take about 5 more minutes"
"Thank you sir", I said.

I payed at the front as the employee handed me the tiny box with the silver ring.

After shopping we made a stop at The Leaky Cauldron for some Butterbeer and were heading back to Hogwarts, when suddenly something hit my face.

A snowball.

I turned around.

Ugh. Here we go again.

"Hold this", I told Luna and Ginny and handed them my bags.
I put on my gloves and picked up some snow to form a snowball.
Then I threw it.

Perfect, I thought to myself.

I hit Malfoy right in the face.

Amused, I watched the blonde flinch and nearly trip.

"I'm gonna get you back Snape!", I heard the boy shout behind me as me and my two friends walked away, laughing.

"Hi Harry!", Ginny greeted Harry as we saw him at the entrance.

I shyly waved at him, I wasn't sure if he started liking me.

"Don't know if you already met, but this is Liv!", Ginny smiled.

"Hi", I said.

"Hi there", he offered me a handshake.
I gladly accepted it.

"Me and Luna are gonna go inside!", Ginny called and left me and Harry alone.

"Weren't you at Hogsmeade too?", I asked.
"No. I don't have permission"
"Ah okay. Sorry to hear that"

I paused.

"There must be a way to sneak in without anyone noticing though?", I added with a light smirk.

He shrugged, but smiled.
"How do you know?", he asked.

"Well... remember that night where we had to sleep in the Great Hall because of Sirius Black?"

"Mhm?"

"Don't tell anyone, but me and Ginny snuck out without anyone noticing", I smiled.

"Really? That's pretty impressive"
"Thanks!"

The smile on his face quickly disappeared though.
"Liv, look ou-"

A hard snowball hit my head.

"Fucking Malfoy", I cursed.

I took my wand out. "Wingardium Leviosa!"
A pile of snow in front of me flew over to Malfoy and his friends.
I cancelled the spell and the whole thing dropped on their heads.

Muffled screams erupted from behind us.
"Let's get out of here", I told Harry.

Harry and me were laughing the whole way to the Gryffindor Common Room.

"Ah I see you got along well with Harry!", Ginny smiled.

"Oi Snape! Haven't seen you in a while", Fred looked up from the fireplace.
I gave the Weasley twins a wave before making my way to Harry, Ginny, Ron and Hermione.

"Hi Ron, Mione", Harry said.

"This is Liv!", Ginny introduced me.

"We know", Hermione smiled.
"We've met in the train", Ron added.

"Oh that's great!", Ginny cheered.

"What were you two laughing about?", Ron pointed at me and Harry.
"Liv threw a pile of snow at Malfoy and his friends", Harry smiled.

"Really?! I thought you were friends with him!"
"Of course not. I didn't think he was that bad at first but then I saw him bullying Neville. He was holding him up in the air and his friends were laughing at him. I stepped in and kind of got in a fight with him...", I explained

"And then I got detention"

"What?! Tell me ALL the details of the fight!", Ron exhaled.

"Well- I pushed him on the floor and knocked his wand out of his hand. He tried to grab my robe but I grabbed him by the collar and shoved him into a wall..."

Everyone stared at me with their mouths open.

"...he tried to push me away, so I pinned him down on the floor. Then McGonagall came in and gave me and him detention"

"Holy shit", Ron gasped.
I proudly smiled.

"Impressive", someone whispered in my ear.
I jumped and turned around.

"FRED-"

"Wrong. I'm George", the twin grinned.
I playfully rolled my eyes at him.

"Alright, it's getting late. I should head back to my dorm. See you around everyone!"
